kinda a long story, bit in a nutshell... transistor fell of the underside of my i5 2500k and Intel claiming warranty void

I refuse to buy a shitty i3, the point is my machine was bought for gaming and now a paperweight. Struck a deal with a mate, so I'll be getting an i5 3340 @ R1000.

Ah, sucks that it broke but glad that you've found a solution.
 
Damn I miss it every time. Can't judge much from the gifs but does it look better than the trailers if people are going on so much about it?

Reading opinions on NeoGaf and Reddit (Note these are subjective) somehow people managed to get PS3/PS4 copies, obviously suppliers since the game has gone gold.

Apparently PS3 looks good for it's aged hardware, similar to GTA V/AC IV. PS4 looks like what PC will be on high and Ultra/Max on PC will have much fancier lighting and effects as well as sharper textures.

I have also read that the game looks bland and boring during day time but is stunning when it rains and at night (similar to Infamous:SS). Reflections off of walls, cars and floors when they are wet etc. Keeping an eye out for how the gameplay is as most people that managed to obtain a copy keep posting about the visuals, thats nice and all but it's 50% of my entertainment value.

Thanks for this. Nice to know they are at least not still bitching about the "downgraded" visuals to such a large extent, and that the PS4 version comes somewhat close to what the PC version will be able to offer. But yes, gameplay over graphics, so I'm also keen to hear impressions of that.

I really don't know what so say about a tardy comment like this...
You obviously know very little about graphics and how they lied through their teeth with the pre rendered game play we saw at E3.
There is a HUGE difference between the visuals now and when the game was shown to the public. But hey we can't complain about the old bait and switch hey....That would be bitching...LOL

I noticed this morning that my receipt for watch dogs showed release date 21 November 2014 :wtf:
Emailed them and asked them what the hell, still waiting for a response though.

Honestly didn't mean to offend anyone, and apologise for my bad choice of words. The reveal vs. current graphics just aren't that important to me. It was wrong of them but at the end of the day if those graphics remained and the game was terrible the graphics wouldn't have saved it. So if the game is as good as it seems I'm more than satisfied with how the game looks.

The only reason we (Yes I am too!) are complaining about it's visuals is because we saw the E3 2012 footage and that was the benchmark. "...it can only get better from a E3 Demo..." is what we all though. Well... It's Ubisoft and it's a multiplatform game. That is not a reason to bash consoles and PC, the PC could have had a far superior version (Visually) than the console version. (WHAT? Have you gone mad?). The Hardware is available to the PC to make the game looks great, I won't lie PC does have impressive visuals then again so does the PS4. Yes I do own a PS4 and a PC but I chose PS4 over PC due to me becoming a casual gamer Work + Study = no time to game. Though I wont be the first nor the last to say that Ubi lied to us. The game became too ambitious for Ubi so, they worked with what they had and made it work. Not what we all expected but atleast we are getting something.

Also it's E3, unless it's Nintendo, what you see at E3 won't always be what you get in the end.

That's fine, I'm glad it doesn't bug you but it bugs a lot of other people.

I'm sure you aren't aware of this either but Ubisoft has a history of this, they did the exact same thing with Far Cry 3. The reveal vids were utterly gorgeous, the jungle was thick and lush and dense, just utterly beautiful...so release date comes...everyone notices that it looks nothing like the original footage we saw, a lot was changed and we weren't told. I'm not saying it made the game worse, because it didn't, still one of my all time fav games...but baiting and switching like that is bullshit and companies should be held accountable or at least offer an explanation, but they don't.

They make silly comments on twitter and then later those comments get retracted and bla bla..and so the circle of shit continues.

But anyway to each their own I suppose.

Yeah like I said, the same thing happened with Far Cry and it was still a great game, so I am sure Watch dogs will be fantastic. Just bugs the crap out of me.

I see, makes more sense then I guess. I've not had much experience following Ubisoft games, as most of them haven't appealed to me (only now getting into AC). Hopefully they've learnt their lesson then with all the backlash, but given their franchises are still uber-successful, and Watch Dogs apparently still has the largest amount of pre-orders ever for a new Ubisoft IP, I'm not going to hold out hope.
 
Well I'll start judging graphics next week when I get the game, until then I may as well be a crystal ball reader talking about graphics etc.
They could easily make great screenshots on the PS4, the game could be running at 1FPS but it's still an in game screen shot on the PS4, so until release I'm staying quiet with graphics.

Funny you should mention this, I was actually thinking of GTA5 and how there was noticeable lag on the X360 and PS3. I'm wondering if watch dogs will do the same to the PS4 and XOne...Mmmmm

Would be interesting to see how the 3 look on launch, so who has money to buy it on old gen, new gen and PC?
