Play World of Warcraft like a pro

Can I just ask someone thats played WOW, Does the story carry on after Warcraft 3 TFT? Because playing Hearthstone iv heard mention of things like the lich king etc, and im one of the people patiently waiting for my Warcraft 4 to come along so I can see what becomes of Arthus when he becomes "The Lich King" from the scene at the end of War3 TFT...

Are my hopes of a Warcraft 4 destroyed? Because it seems to be that Blizzard have their Strategy game in Starctaft, RPG in Diablo and 3rd person what ever you call it in WOW...
