Is the Nintendo 3DS worth buying?

I think one of the biggest reasons why the NDS was so popular was because of the rampant piracy due to the flashcart. Made it immensely popular and cheap. The games were cool too.
Now that the 3DS has piracy countermeasures put in place making it extremely hard to pirate games on the 3DS it's popularity subsequently has taken a hit.

I love my 3DS, it is probably one of the coolest little gadgets that I own. Also, Incredible Connection has a few of the original units going for R999 on their web deals page.

3DS is incredibly popular, particularly overseas. It's utterly worth getting if you're a Nintendo fan. I mean Pokemon X/Y, Fire Emblem, Smash Bros(soon), Animal Crossing, Ocarina remake etc.

Just look at it's library ordered by score on metacritic.

I love Fire Emblem and maybe a good LoZ with cartoon link. However, other franchises really don't appeal to me due to it's maturity level or rehashes.
 
I bought my 3ds xl for R2200 not sure why it says R2970, is that for a limited edition or X/Y combo one?

Howcome the 2ds isn't shown it is part of the 3ds group and R1500, it is worth it.
 
Have colleagues at work that owns both, I see them play a lot on their handhelds. Between the two, I prefer the VITA because graphics looks better and have more functionality. The 3D screen of the Nintendo did not impress me much

It's a fair enough point, although I disagree, I feel that this like Pokemon and Animal Crossing easily span generations. That boils down to personal preference though.

The thing I've always found interesting about Nintendo is the hammering they get over using their same franchises over and over again, since they are consistently good and metacritic scores support that. I think the worst mainstream Mario game that did badly was Super Mario Sunshine on the gamecube and that scored in 80's.

Fire Emblem is INCREDIBLE though, we worth it.
 
I bought mine solely for Resident Evil Revelations (when it was still a 3DS exclusive) and really enjoyed the 3D. Unfortunately it was stolen when we had a break-in so never got to try any other games, and there hasn't really been any other title that has tempted me to buy one again. But it was nice and I didn't regret the purchase :).
 
I was going to buy a 3ds xl for R1500, but Dionwired is out of stock. Anywhere I could get it for this price or close?
 
3DS is amazeballs... I remember when I got it on launch weekend and only having Super Street Fighter, getting bored and thinking, oh crap nothing is happening, not much new games.

Then.... the following year happened and I'm still playing catch up XD

Kid Icarus is awesome and can get very difficult, the controls will annoy you at first but will get easier after a while.
Advance Wars is a NDS game that I love and that is why I love Fire Emblem Awakening soooo much. You should get that if you like Advance Wars.
Haven't played Phantom Hourglass and Professor Layton but heard good thing about them.
