Thread Killer Mk X

Some help here guys. What is the correct forum etiquette? I want to ask advice about controllers (gamepad) on PC. There are a number of threads but they date from 2011 or 2012. Do I pick an existing thread and necro it or do I start a new thread?

Neither, you get yourself a wired xbox controller, because that's the only option.

Question time, is a xbox 360 controller for pc in hand better than a xbox one controller that might possibly get drivers in the future?

So I had a deadline of end June for new lyrics ..... that bitch has already been put to bed yo!

there's probably a very few ppl in SA that can answer that since the xbone controller is not launched here yet.

I'm using a wireless Xbox 360 controller for PC and it works ok, the wired controller works better (better response times) but overall the only other controller that comes close is the Logitech F310 gamepad. However I don't like the PlayStation style layout of the controller as it hurts my hands.

Yep - the wired one I've found is better. Plus the cord is about 40 km long.

Thanks for the pointers on the controllers. You guys answered all the questions I've had except one: Can I buy any XBox 360 controller or must it say "for Windows" or "for PC" on the packaging?

that would be it yep, having a blast so far and it's only gonna get better :D

Awesome!

Yes - it has the wireless dongle and drivers.
But they are the same thing essentially. Unless you can find a wired Xbox 360 controller these days.

Morning all

What the other people said. I got a Logitech one once, and it was lekker, but lots of games only work with xbox controllers. You can get a wireless adapter for them though if you don't want a wired one, eg this one that has a controller and a wireless receiver included
