Watch Dogs official thread (PC and Console)

Shame James, that sucks. I had a ball playing tonight. If I can give some advise to anyone stick it out through the first hour or two. It takes some getting use to the vehicle's maneuverability and it's only in the first few minutes of the game where they really hold your hand so badly that you aren't free to do anything.

Yeah having a blast with this, after getting it locked at 30 Fps it really is a very enjoyable game it really has some of the coolest secondary missions in a open world game.It took a while to get used to the driving but I now am really good at driving without hitting everything,it seems to be slightly more arcady than Gta5 but it is solid.Everybody should try the bikes in the game they are awesome to move around the traffic quickly.Thank you jeebus the animations are really smooth and a great improvement over asscreed who thought having to press a button to climb could be so cool.Realy good game people should try it just don't expect to run it on ultra if you don't have a monster pc it's the first game in awhile to really shit on my pc lol. Also Uplay is down play in offline mode.

Anyone playing this on PS3 / Xbox 360 ?

I am keen to hear your thoughts as all the reviews and Let's Plays seem to be either on new-gen or PC master race. I am worried about the fidelity hampering gaming experience on my PS3 so I will wait to get my PC fixed, just curious on others thoughts.

Well I can't even get the game working. Anyone else encountered problems?

Probably had something to do with the servers. The servers were done for at least 2 hours last night from what I could gauge. Fortunately for me I wasn't affected as my Uplay went into offline mode without any hassle.

Problem is that going offline doesn't help if you haven't even been able to activate the game yet.

When an anti-piracy method is affecting the game for people who legitimately bought it and causing other people not to buy the game, there is obviously something wrong with it!

Played for about 2 hours yesterday.

My first impressions:

At least I did not have any problems running the game. I have an i7 2000k @ 4GHz, GTX780 and GTX580 for dedicated PhysX and 12GB RAM. Running the game on Ultra with no problems.

At first I found the driving felt a bit strange, but once you get used to it, its actually pretty fun! :P The bikes' handling is a lot better than the cars though. One thing I find odd is that when you are turning with vehicles, they accelerate even though you're not actively accelerating, and I hope they can fix that. Overall the controls and driving feels akin to Sleeping Dogs, which isn't bad.

The side missions are really fun, and I was surprised how lost I got just running around beating up random bad guys, taking out gangs and owning cops with the raising pillars :P.

I wouldn't say that the graphics are next-gen, but it does look really good. Especially at night, the vehicles and reflections look extremely beautiful. I ended up using the temporal AA as the TXAA option makes the game look too blurry. Maybe the game looks a bit blurry overall because of it being ported from consoles with low-res textures?

I haven't followed the story as much yet because of getting distracted by all the side activities, but so far it seems interesting enough for an open world game.

I've read a couple of reviews on this game, and all I can say is that it depends on what you make of it. I've had a lot of fun so far, and I haven't even seen 5% of the game yet, but I can tell that I'm going to spend a lot of time with this game as it's definitely a great open world game with plenty of things to do, and a lot of tools at your disposal to create chaos.

I have to also mention that it was really cool when some random dude tried to hack me. I drove up all the way to a multi-story parking lot and spotting the guy standing in the park, trying to blend in. I could tell he got a fright when I spotted him as he wasn't sure of where to run and tried jumping over a fence as I pulled out my assault rifle and shot him in the ass, literally. xD

Anyway, will post some more later, but for now, I cannot wait to get home tonight to go sink in some more time into this game!

Yep, it's not perfect but it's still a quadrillion times better than the other model which doesn't allow you to play the game at all if there servers are offline.

No, it's actually not. People who bought the game can't currently play it. Regardless of why it is that they can't play it, this is terrible.

Are you talking about Steam? :wtf:

Not really no, but also sort of. I am talking about platforms like uPlay and Steam (with Watch Dogs) that allow you to play offline even when the servers are unavailable, versus other games which don't allow you to play at all ie Diablo III or Battlefield.

I agree that it sucks badly for those who aren't able to play at the moment because they can't activate their game, but it's still better because others who have already activated their games are able to play even whilst there are issues with the server. It's a once-off inconvenience versus a permanent inconvenience.

My problem wasn't Uplay - by the time I got to installing it they had fired more coal in the Uplay server room. No, my problem was the show-stopping dll error for which there is no 100% solution. I tried all the suggested quick fixes to no avail. So, I wrote an article about and went to bed :P

About it? or about the weather in Rome this time of year? :D

Do you have the Steam version or the retail version?
