New NCSoft MMO - Wildstar

Wife is working night shifts all weekend.. i mean I'm only playing WS to cope with the boredom while she is sleeping all day.
 
Oh yeah figured as much. Was just commenting on how unlucky i am not getting to spend time with the missus this weekend.

I'll be forced to focus on Wildstar. Woe is me

Cool thing is that i never have to worry, as my GF plays MMO's with me she is just as excited to play than i am :)

We will both be up early morning, make breakfast together and get coffee and start spamming login servers together.
 
Um ... We were actually talking about someone choosing their wife's birthday over gaming, so you're a bit off point there! :rolleyes: I personally couldn't relate to a woman who chooses to spend her birthday gaming instead of getting s**tfaced, but each to their own! :D And what you're describing isn't that unusual. That sounds like pretty much every day in my house!

Just realised something, I know that you can invite someone from the same faction on another server to your group and then do adventures/dungeons with them. I am MOST certainly going to level a Dominion character just to group with you guys in Grim Wolves, even if it is not on your server. Any chance you guys can have a Grim Wolves circle so we can stay in contact, no matter what server/faction we are in?

I need to redownload my client as well before the weekend, there is a rumour that if you had the client from closed beta then you need to redownload it to get better fps.

Re-download to get better FPS.. lol, sounds like trolling, but if that is the case thats not cool.

I know there is a 800Mb patch as well this morning.
 
Regarding the re-install of Wildstar for better FPS..

Its a common myth that reinstalling before launch will help you in some way. It won't really. Reinstalling can help re-fragment the client, because most of its data is stored in huge files on your HDD. This can become fragmented. However, the benefit is minimal. Extremely minimal. Like you wouldn't even notice minimal. Add to that the fact that as soon as they patch, you'll be fragmenting it again.. its just a waste of time and bandwidth. This was confirmed on the forums a while back

For the FPS increase, the files are the ones contained in your Users(windows user here)\AppData\Roaming\NCSOFT\WildStar folder, so you can delete those to do it without reinstall!
You do lose most settings changes, and it seems to forget what tutorials you have and havn't done, but it was worth it for me, gaining over 30FPS (going from around 20 usually to over 50 constantly)

Hrm. Think I'll confirm that rumour before redownloading anything! Edit: Yeah, that's what I thought as well William.

Cougar from Carbine responded regarding the rumour about FPS increases..

We think we found what was causing this and are making a change in the client so that if there are installations out there still suffering from this we'll fix it.
However, if you want to double-triple make sure, yes deleting your WildStar data in %appdata% has been giving people fps increases (usually only players who installed prior to open beta)

Well I wanted to redownload the client in anycase to make sure there are no issues, my updater sometimes worked and sometimes not
 
Oh yeah deleted the settings folder during open beta and saw a fps increase. No way i'm download the client again. Running low on cap anyways.
