Whats the best gaming mouse on the market at the moment and whats the best mouse for your buck on the market?

Best gaming mouse has to be the Logitech G5. If you don't have one or never owned one, go out now and buy one. You will never look back. :D

Huge debate. What size hand do you have? Logitechs are always a good choice. G5, MX518, G1 (my favourite but u can get it in SA i dont think.) Also what type of games do you wanna play? Is your mousepad cloth or other? High or low sens? All things u got to take into consideration if u want the perfect gaming mouse. Theres the microsoft Habu aswell, Razer have a quite a selection aswell. I can comment on the razer deathadder, its rather uncomfortable. For me personally G1 & MX518 are the best

For the price of those gaming mouses/mice ... can you really see the difference? I've looked at the razor etc, but hells bells ... its a lot of money :(

I use a Razor Kraite. I got it in my student days, and it was about R350...really not bad and one of the best investments I have ever made for my PC.

My advice is, find a gaming mouse that you can afford and that feels good in your hand. All the other differences are negligible in my opinion. However, the difference between most regular devices and a gaming mouse is massive.

My Razor Kraite is supposedly optimized for MMORPG's and RTS's, but In my opinion its all marketing crap. Its comfy, accurate and cheap. Done

That's exactly what I don't get with these uber-buttoned ones ... they're too darn bulky. How on earth could it be comfortable? I don't even like wireless mice since the batteries make it feel too heavy/sluggish.

Its completely upto personal taste..My mate has a G5 and ive played quite a few games with it but i can't feel a dffirence between that and his other mouse..not sure of the name but he payed R699 for it, I think the g5's are like R1500..that's insane!!

I bought a Microsoft Habu mouse about a year and a half ago and it was a waste of money. It looks very pretty but it has given me endless problems.

It tends to double click when single clicking which is a problem lots of people are experiencing and it loses power every now and then. My next mouse will most likely be a Logitech again.

Mouses make the biggest difference in FPS games i think. I feel i aim better with a G1 than with my razer deathadder. I could be wrong and it could just be psychological and im really crazy :D :/ :) :p :( as'f;a'sf;as'f;

Also keep in mind that the weight of the G5 can be changed to your personal taste. I know they are expensive, bought mine a while back and it was R800 then, but it never broke or nothing, so I am not spending anymore on the mouse. And another thing is the cable of the G5, it weighs almost nothing and is very flexible, I hate it when I move my mouse and have to use force to get it around... :p

I don't see the point really in spending a large amount of money on gaming mice...I have the MX400 laser mouse and I've used my friends G7 and I couldn't notice the difference, as for weight I think you get used to however much your mouse weighs over time...

Logitech make great mice. Make sure if you use a laser mouse you don't use it on a reflective surface.

Apparently the G3's laser is terrible compared to the G5/G7, so maybe do a bit of research before. But G3 has the best shape in teh world

You can't compare the G3 with the G5/7. Check the price first. I did do my research, well better yet, a friend of mine has the G3 and I have the G5. His was ~R300 and mine R680.

w1z4rd, you a lefty or a righty? If you're left handed forget about Logitech and get yourself a Razor. Otherwise Logitech FTW. Since optical mice came out I've only used Logitech. Had the G5 now for close to three years.

Only problem I have with my G5 is that it's the first edition one which doesn't come out with two side buttons, only one. :(
