GTA 5 PC costs the same as PS4, Xbox One version

No game series comes close to the amount of fun you can have in a GTA game.

Not so. Saints Row is hella fun! Albeit, a clone, it's still a more fun-filled experience. Where Saints Row may lack in story-telling, which it doesn't, GTA makes up for with more "true-to-reality" and substance story telling.

What about Sleeping Dogs bro?

I just think Take2 saw how well it did and pushed the price along knowing millions will buy it...

Well yeah that's just it. Remember when Modern Warfare 2 launched it R150 more expensive than any other game? No reason.. just there you go. More recently, everyone has just decided 'Hey let's add R200 to everything'. Now I understand increases are inevitable - and we've been lucky so far - but like I said in my original post - someones having a laugh (particularly with regard to digital game prices). Somewhere in some underground executive lair, a CEO is having sex with Miss Venezuela on top of a pile of my money.

Ranks very high in my books among the best games of the past decade, seriously, if you have yet to play that game, play it!!!

Scooter + Roadrunner radio station = win.

And the messed up thing is that we kinda let them do it. Oh, I guess it's worth it, right? I mean there must be a reason for the price. Meh, I'm actually super jaded on gaming, or at least mostly the details outside of installing the game and playing it.

Much win :D

Seriously though, same price as the consoles? That's actually a hard pill to swallow :/

I think I can wait for bargain-bin vibes, I'm not exactly frothing at the mouth for the game at this point, and there are other upcoming games that interest me more.

Sooo, yeah...

It is a hard pill to swallow - once GTA gets away with it, the floodgates will open. Of course, lets wait and see what happens. I am patient enough to wait for specials or price cuts anyway.

Exactly the thing I'm worried about; they're setting a dangerous precedent here. Once the floodgates do open, I'll officially become a fully fledged AAA bargain buyer, and my commitment to indie gaming will be that much stronger. Seriously, gaming is become too expensive :wtf:. Not that pricing never goes up, but good grief, what happened in the past 3 years???

I guess it's a good thing then (so to speak) that games devalue so quickly.

+10000

I used to buy games the minute they were released. Usually they'd sit on the shelf for months before I even got to them. That habit has changed dramatically in the past year. I no longer pre-order games unless there is a collectable included that I have to have.

So far, this new buying strategy has paid off in bucket loads. I don't spend money any more on games which are poorly made or that don't turn out to be quite what you expected. So in that way I save money and I avoid disappointment. I've also started playing my backlog of games now, so again, I don't feel the need to go and spend money on any of the newer games. And by the time I do eventually buy a game, it's something I know for sure that I want, and it's probably come down in price a lot.

Moral of my story: Don't just rush out and buy the latest AAA title any more. It's not worth it. Learn to pick your games.

This is bad news for me and might be the end of Pc gaming for me if the games are going to be the same price,at least I can trade a console game in I can not do it with a Pc game.I only have a 6gig cap so steam is out of the question.

Yeah it is becoming a right royal pain to sell PC games off if they're tied to steam...on the one hand you want the game badly while on the other by waiting a bit more you can pick it up for a hell of a lot less than what it would cost at release. More waiting though...
