I like the current scheme... It's what differentiates this site from a lot of others I frequent.

I am fine with adding additional options for other schemes though - Give the members the power to choose their theme. +1

Well, even the change from having a zaps ad to a take 2 ad makes a bit of a difference in the overall look of the site.

Suggestion :

Adopt a reasonable date format for the forum.

In South Africa, the standard way to represent the date is : The day, THEN the month, and then the year, not month/day/year.

Yes but south africa is at the ass end of the universe. The soft ware the site is built on does it that way. To be honest ive never even noticed it. Did you for a second thing a post was made on the 8th day of the 31st month?

No, I saw something made on the 9th of January and thought it was the 1st of September.

And before you talk about South Africa being the arse end of anything, you should know that the dd-mm-yy format is used in the majority of the world... When we speak, we talk about the "twenty-second of August", not "August the twenty-second". It's only natural that our written way of expressing the date works the same way. The mm-dd-yy format comes from the U.S., which is in this case more backward than us, as they're the one of 3 countries in the world that hasn't officially switched to a metric system of measurement.

Ideally I would have set the time options myself, but I can't find it anywhere in the control panel.

Yes, I agree. South African locale is pretty much the stanard in SA. It should be able to be changed, in the software config of the forum somewhere. I am not a big buff on the forum software, but almost all software you can change the locales (at least the ones I worked with).
All my software and systems I setup uses the South African locale and regional settings, including the date / time format.
