A large number of Afrikaners in South Africa may be at risk of contracting Parkinson's disease because of their ancestors, a study by Stellenbosch University has found.

"If genetic studies confirm the presence of a founder effect for [Parkinson's disease] PD in Afrikaners, this would imply that there is a large number of individuals from this ethnic group who may potentially be at risk of developing this debilitating condition," it said in a study recently published in the "SA Medical Journal".

I'm 100% Czech/German/Austrian/who ever screw their way through central Europe in the past.

50% Jew, 50% German, also at lower risk and I guess you can figure out why my parents came to SA in the early 40s.
