Anyone playing this?

D and I've been giving it a shot since yesterday and we're kind of really liking it.

The gameplay is really enjoyable, there's a ton of stuff to do and it has a number of very cool mechanics (courts, housing, gliding, farming, combat-usable mounts, sea battles, castles, lots of interactive world objects and a metric F-ton of crafting professions (alchemy, cooking, weaponry, handicrafts, construction, husbandry, masonry, logging, printing, larceny, commerce, metalwork, leatherworking, tailoring, carpentry, machining, farming, gathering, mining, fishing, composition). The character creator also has some insane customisability to it.

Only criticism is really the "story"/"questing." It's not the primary aspect of the game. However, it still manages to be pretty interesting.

I have to say so far I am not that impressed but I think I will wait for a bit to get a better idea of the game, it was chaos last night at 11pm just to get the basic quests done.

Also the fact that I have to spam esc key to log in drives me insane. Isen if I get into the next one I will let you know and you can use my account if you wanna try it out. Im gonna give it some more time this week tho.

Thanks Wyvs, but I'm not overly desperate to play. So either I try it when they send me a key or when it releases. :)

At this point, from my view point (it took me 3 hours to get into the game after finally finding the esc button mechanic - otherwise the game crashes just after the cry engine splash screen).

Ingame I have dropped ALL my settings to the lowest possible and for the most part I still see black squares where housing and nps's are, my char is mainly hair and eyes and the rest is black. It takes 10mins for everything to render and then I go to a new area and it happens all over again.

So this is still VERY early beta. Normally I dont bother with it this early on, so I can't say much about game play or even what attacks look like. I do know other people are enjoying it and loving it.

How can this all be still "very early beta" ? I thought this game is already "LIVE" in asia for a year+ now ? I can understand them testing language/sound type of things, but are they actually rewriting the graphics and engine?

I was under the impression this is merely a "conversion" of the Asian version, not a total rewrite or a new game ? Even the "Alpha" was considered "Beta" as far as blogs/reviews went, you sure this is not a server performance / pc performance issue?

For me that is what the game feels like, it doesnt feel like a conversion, it feels like an early start to a game. It feels uncomplete and buggy as heck. If it is a server issue, then maybe it can be resolved. If that is how the game runs on a pc that can run various other new games at medium or max settings with no issue, then I dont know if this is something that I will be playing.
