lol, it looks like it .......... I must be doing something wrong surely?

There isn't much you need to do:

1. input your company id for a company which already exists and has employees OR manually select the company industry, quality and add employees manually for a company which doesn't yet exist
2. input employee wages
3. set the selling price at the top (it's set to market price by default)

and that's it, it spews out your profit

It's a hypothetical company .... I am just playing around to see what would be best to buy.

I'm not too clued up on Brazil's market conditions but judging by http://www.ereptools.net/graph/currency , the BRL appreciated in value a couple of days ago to 1 BRL = 0.031 GOLD and depreciated yesterday to 1 BRL = 0.033 GOLD . When looking at http://www.ereptools.net/graph/productsPrices , the price of Q1 weapons in Brazil has also dropped rapidly over the last few weeks so profit margin would have diminished quite a bit.
I've had a look at market wages and skill 4's are paid just under 11 BRL which is equivalent to +- 0.36 gold. If I were to compare this to the US wages, skill 4's are currently paid 12 USD which is about 0.21 gold (and the USD has depreciated over night so this is usually less).
It would seem Brazilian wages are just very competitive making it incredibly tough to operate there. This would be caused by a shortage of skilled workers, demand < supply, therefore companies need to fight to get workers and have to offer more.

If you own a raw materials company that supplies the manufacturing company, how do you work out the cost of the raw materials or does it cost nothing?

Using that Calc, I see it's only about 5 countries where a profit can be made ..... surely not?

did you check each country's market wages and adjust accordingly?

If you produce your own raw materials, the cost per unit in local currency would be (total salaries paid / number of units produced). You would then convert that amount to GOLD and then to USD if for example your weapons company was in the eUS.

Yeah I did check and change wages accordingly, as well as income tax. It just seems that most companies make a loss. I want to place the companies in High yield areas but those areas is where, according to the Calc, you make a loss  It's all very confuzzling atm.

Here's another example of making a loss daily -

well Indonesia, Hungary, Peru, Brazil, Iran which all have high iron regions are incredibly tough to operate in. I wouldn't touch Indonesia as your company will be dead-weight there and you won't manage to get employees.

I would say it's best to start off with a finished goods company first like perhaps a weapons company in the eUS or eSA or a gift company in eSA.

also, all markets are shaky right now and very volatile, it's a tough time to start a company

Weapon Company in eUSA: minus 0.33 Gold per day
Same in eSA: minus 2.3 Gold daily

I donno how m8

I'm selling my weapons in the eUS at market price and pay market wages and I make a decent amount of gold.

are you adjusting the price of raw materials to the cheapest source in the world?

Zamrg.

Is it possible to own a gift company in the eUSA? And then import from a cheapest source? And how would one go about doing that?

yes, you set up your gift company in the eUS and then use your org to travel around the world and purchase the cheapest diamonds, which you then donate back to your gift company.
