Took me about an hour with work in-between, but i successfully transferred 0.01134 BTC (certainly a few $1 humble bundles) this afternoon into my bitcoin wallet. How did I do it? Here:

1: Go to Stellar and register.

2: Create an account with your email address, remembering your username

3: Click "Receive your first stellars on us! Log in with Facebook"

4: Log in with facebook ("legit" accounts don't have to wait, it's age-of-account dependent)

5: Click the "Set up password recovery! Verify your email" and verify it with the mail thats sent (copy the code in mail to the "your recovery code is: " section

6 Depending on speed/time/lady luck/lunar phase, you might have to wait a bit to actually receive the damn stuff (mine was instant, but this morning, apparently its maybe taking longer)

7: Now that you have been following the prompts, its time to thank Mottamort :D
the last "tutorial" thing is to send 1000 stellars to a friend. So if you'd like, you can send to me "mottamort", and this is important: YOU WILL RECEIVE THE SAME AMOUNT BACK AS REWARD (was 1000, then 800, currently now 100 :/) FOR SENDING AND COMPLETING THE START, SO YOU WONT LOSE A DAMN THING :D * Read 1st sentence at top of page pls

To change your Stellar stuff into BTC, you will wanna use Justcoin.

Register here

!NO PROOF OF ADDRESS NEEDED, TYPE WHATEVER YOU WANT HERE, BUT THIS IS A LEGITIMATE CURRENCY EXCHANGE SO IT IS SECURE!

Once your account is complete you'll come to a sort of homepage:

Go to Deposit Followed by Stellar on the left.

Now you have an address and a destination tag.

Go back to Stellar and click Send, then copy the address into the "Send to" block, that'll then make the destination tag popup which you also copy across.

Then you select the amount, and send it.

Once back on Justcoin you go to the Trade tab followed by BTC/STR and Buy

It looks like this: JCbuy.png

(I really hope the images don't look shit, its my first image post :P)

Then you say how many stellar you wanna sell (how many you sent yourself) and click the buy bitcoin button. If you wanna get all fancy you can select advanced and specify how much you want to "pay" for your bitcoin etc, but I don't care much for stock exchange stuff :P

ALMOST DONE!

Now you just click "Withdraw" on the Justcoin page and then select Bitcoin and enter the details.




If you don't have a Bitcoin wallet, then might I suggest you first read up a bit on bitcoins and cryptocurrencies etc. Google is your friend, so is this.

Wouldn't know about spam, I have numerous mail addresses for this kind of stuff :P

Where does it ask for proof of residence and ID??? At only ONE point in justcoin does it ask for address, but none of it is compulsory, you don't have to fill a thing in...I didn't
 
I've received 900 stellars to go through the process. The send part of the tutorial is now send 100, receive 100.

eish. seems I was lucky to get in on it early...i got about 3000 for signing up and doing it hehe.

Look into Ripples (XRP) as well. They have giveaways every once in a while. I've accumulated about 2,250 ripples ($10) without spending a sent.
 
check here for updates regarding the stellar distribution...it seems the rewards WILL be the same, but not a lump sum (like I got), but distributed over time... So that's good news for latecomers, they'll still get (allegedly) $10-$20 :)

I have 2000 steller things I want to redeem them at the wallet do I need to give me id and proof of address?

at the wallet? you mean when you wanna create a Justcoin account? no you dont have to enter an address. its not compulsory, I didn't...


EDIT: just checked, I entered "blanky blank" under almost everything on the "address" page (checked my details under settings), nothing red flagged or came up. and i've successfully transferred into my bitcoin wallet from there :)
