Yeah announcing it's timed would defeat the whole purpose of what MS is hoping for, but either way they're not getting my money.Yeah the vagueness suggests a timed exclusive, but they are likely under embargo for the time being to maintain the Xbox hype.
My post in the TK:
In their minds: Cash injection from MS will be enough to supplement any future profits they'll make through sales on the Xbox One (possibly enough to cover the alienated platforms); they did mention at some point they were underwhelmed by the sales (at least earlier in the release period). They also might be thinking with this possibly being the Xbox One's "Uncharted," Microsoft might be putting up the better half of the game's marketing since they're hoping it's console pusher that will get the Xbox One off the shelves (which isn't too far-fetched, I guess).
Still, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
While they may be getting a cash injection from MS for this one, they are hurting the future of the franchise name by alienating the vast majority of TR fans, so any future non-exclusive TR titles will undoubtedly be affected negatively by this move.
It's a case of not looking at what the future repercussions of this move will have for the series in the future.
Without knowing how much they being paid its hard to speculate about it. This could be a new Halo title for the console. Anyway, I'm also pretty unhappy about it, i was going to buy it on launch day for PC. But guess that won't happen.
Why?
WHY?
WHY?
It's not like Halo was a multi-platform game and then got made an exclusive, sure 1 and 2 came to PC at a much later date and 2 was an obvious troll trap to get people to buy Vista.
Tomb Raider was a multiplatform game and now is being made into a platform exclusive.
That ≠logical.
Maybe I am being too jaded, but I just think they made a dick move and are going to backtrack at some stage, or eat humble pie. While I am unhappy, at least there will be other games to play. Still I own TR on PC and bought the Definitive Ed. on PS4 and loved it so much more on PS4 - but you can't have your cake and eat it.

Looks like some back tracking has already been done:

Yeah even as a timed exclusive it is still a big FU to the fans that kept the franchise alive for over a decade. I think I'll buy a used copy for the first time in my life.I guess the backtracking is silver lining, but meh...

lol, I didn't say it wasn't a dick move. I was just thinking along the lines of how cool the last one was, it had the potential to be a Halo title (If it was exclusive), in the sense its a cool game. It seems logical to me why they would do it. It really has nothing to do with it being multi-platform in the past. Is my thinking illogical or their move? If its my thinking, why else would they do it?

No offense taken, just wasn't sure, sometimes its hard to tell what someone means purely through text instead of chatting face to face. Like sarcasm never translates well in text for example.
Why make an established IP a platform exclusive after almost 18 years of being multi-platform?
