Hey guys found this link in reddit and thought I'd share it with those eager for the new UT :D

this basically sums up how to DL the pre-alpha builds

NOTE: PRE ALPHA

Movement/Weapons and basic feel of the game is being tested, and there's constant changes/updates. Don't expect too much eye candy and a lot of placeholders.

You can also test other peoples mods/mutators/maps with it I believe.
Nothing is final yet, still in prototype stages.

What you can't do is edit the values, tweak and create content. For that you need an UE4 license. These are just compiled version the average Joe can run and test.

Extra Note:
These builds are provided Beyondunreal, based on the latest Epic GIT
IRC: #BeyondUnreal on GlobalGamers IRC Network

It's so that everyone has the same build to test out Multiplayer, until EPIC starts releasing their own official builds which is gonna take a bit of time still.

Haven't tried it yet but people are saying it feels amazing.
 
The idea of this is to get player feedback early in the development process, hence allowing them to make the best possible experience for the players.

waaaahahaha.... aaah, the good ol' days of flame wars and haters. Jirra I remember the shit that used to go down between UT99 and Q3 okes, do not get those two breeds in the same room :D
 
DUDE! Those days I thought I was a legit gamer, went to leagues and tournaments an alles. Used to practice for hours on my Dialup/ISDN line, clan matches. Even used to train for WCG.

Oh man.... those were the days!
 
I quickly played some of the levels, hell, even for a pre alpha they look good, textures look very sexy. Obviously very minimalistic at this stage, but great.

What do you guys think of this video, what the guy says. I can almost understand what he means, just hope UT4 proves him....and me, wrong.

I haven't watched the video (at work). But my biggest concerns is, are they able to capture the essence of the old school shooter, I don't care about hit/kill streaks, about leveling up, etc. I am trying not to get too hyped for this and get my hopes shattered. UT99 is my all time favorite game/shooter. It went downhill with UT2k3 but redeemed itself with UT3 (a bit).

I am really hoping for the best, I really miss the arena styled shooters. Not this CoD and BF bullshit. Bring back old school!!!

Yeah it's very half done atm, lots of place holders are being used ingame, but its to overall test alot of things that they have implemnted. I got a feeling its linked to the new UT4.4 update.
