Mweb or Axxess

Hey guys looking at pricing and want to help move my soon to be new land lord away from telkom uncapped to either Axxess or Mweb.

I see Mweb is slightly cheaper but that doesn't mean the service is better has anyone has experiences with both of these companies

Anyone just want to throw in their two cents.
 
Why those two? Why not consider AfriHost?

I have been super happy with Afrihost, and I have been with both the mentioned providers and I have moved away.
 
I can vouch for axxess. great service and simple to understand website and pricing.

I have a 4mb uncapped line for R499 incl line rental.
 
I speak under correction, but Afrihost and Axxess use the same infrastructure.

I am actually moving away from Axxxess due to VERY inconsistant pings of late, last month or two.

I have found Web Africa to be the best in my area (N Kzn) and their pings are ALWAYS the same (+- 200ms) As I dont really download much anymore, i got the 60gig capped account and its only like R199 p/m. Also because its a capped account you run at full line speed, which is often 6-10 meg (obviously if you have a 4meg line) depending on your area. Uncapped accounts limit the speed. My line is rocking at 6meg now in my small town...with no complaints.

Its also easy to top up if you run out of bandwidth before month end
 
Vox Telecom has been getting excellent praise lately over at MyBB. Maybe check them out?

As for Axxess vs MWEB, on principle I'd say stay away from MWEB because of their lack of integrity and how they went from the saviours of the web to the guys who implemented the most strict and ridiculous FUP controls.

WebAfrica has been pretty good lately, as has VT, but with month-to-month contracts there's nothing stopping you from moving around to whoever's the best at the time. So don't think long-term!

When I joined Afrihost it was pretty good, now it's time to leave. When enough people leave AH might pull their heads out of their arse and then I'll come back.
 
I also prefer capped accounts to uncapped, but im moving into a place with 6 other people and the landlord has Telkom Uncapped *shudders so ya want to help him and myself, Afrihost vs Axxess same company basically but afrihost's capped accounts are always cheaper and vice versa for uncapped

What kind of speeds are you guys getting on 4Mb uncapped these days?

With axxess uncapped 4mb I get 3.something something speed according to the speedtest website.

I guess that depends on your definition of "heavy". I'm extremely happy with them so far.

I just want to be able to download my steam games, at the moment the internet is wrecked, in any case i found out that the current telkom bundle is a contract so Will probably have to wait to opt out or pay a penalty.
 
Well i have use almost all of them, mweb(evul stay away) imaginet (don't even bother) openweb (useless specially with support) axxess (afrihost toned down)

Been with afrihost jow a year and nit one day issue and i do about 300gb a month.

So you can use them with ease
