PS4 - Game Questions

Im still on the SP... The game i was most disappointed about missing out on last Gen, and I am so glad i missed it now... It really is incredible... I cant get over how beautiful the "broken" world is... And the story line is just so mind gripping!

Hehe, I'm using the photo mode in this new play through. Nice new feature they brought in with this version. Still got Left Behind to go as well, which was pretty good, if a bit short.

Must say, I've noticed a few graphical glitches here and there, like a whole cupboard just vanishing depending on the angle. Gave me a nice clear view of where some of the enemies were :)

Yeah, I'm also playing purely for the story. I got as far as the winter chapter, so I imagine I'm close to finishing it. But work and the kid has kept me so busy, the last time I played was a week ago.

I am really, and I mean REALLY, into the story. As a single father I relate to alot of what Joel goes through and the story is kinda taking it's toll on me. It really pulls at my heart strings. I have literally teared up 3 times so far in this game. It is so amazing!!!

Still busy with SP or are you doing the MP thing? Started my new game + play through last night. Wish my mind had a delete button everytime I start a new play through :o

Even with the Patch for matchmaking, MP still feels broken to me, sometimes you will get a match in 30 seconds other times you will be sitting in a lobby for 20 mins before getting kicked/disconnected. Or once a game completes it's back to finding a match instead of continuing with the people you just played with or against.

When it is working MP is super fun! Haven't played the interrogation mode yet but the other 2 modes are quite intense especially Survivor when it is 1 vs 3 and you manage to fool the opposition into a trap.

Going solo in MP will kill you quicker than anything, and bunching up too much makes it a easy target for a molotov or bomb.

Tried MP twice so far, and both times the match making was quite quick though, but I've read on quite a few places gamers complaining about this so I guess it's just a matter of time before this happens to me as well. And yeah, tried the solo thing and got my ass handed to me

Has anyone tried Trials Fusion yet ? Been interested in it after playing the old one on PC, its not expensive either.

I've played Fusion on PC and it's enjoyable. I have been thinking of it, but I don't have any friends that play it and therefor no competetive times to go up against. That's half the fun for me :P
But yeah, awesome game! 10x Better than its predecessor.

I've also been eyeballing Trials for quite some time. The main reason I haven't shopped it yet is every time I try, a little voice in the back of my head tells me it'll be free soon on PS+...

I haven't downloaded any of the free PS plus games yet, quick question, are they only free for that month or can you keep playing after the month is over ?

They stay yours forever, baring you stay a PS+ member. If your PS+ membership expires you simply can't access that game, renew your subscription and continue. If you still don't renew after 3/6 months it will expire afaik.

Is anyone here who has played & finished TLoU, interested in creating a separate thread to discuss it to length and sort of analyze it?

Just trying to see the interest of this before creating a thread. I have one friend at work that has played it and since I completed it Saturday night we will be talking about it. But it would also be nice to get others (you guys/gals) thoughts and opinions and experiences.

Please let me know if any interest.

With any luck I may be finishishing it sometime this week... that is if I can get some time away from my books.

I don't see why it can't have it's own thread if it is influential enough it should warrant a proper discussion.

You know, saying that, I literally haven't played any other game since completing it. I have been watching and listening to discussions and dissections of it. It is truly a work of art.

Lemme' break it down~

Gundam, Persona, Dragon Quest, Disgaea and Ys (Pronounced /ˈiːs/) are extremely popular Japanese RPG's or JRPG for short. Aave for Gundam which is a slightly different affair. All of them are to be released in Japan in 2015, I am hoping for a english localization of them all as they are my favourite series of games.

Dragon Quest is famous due to Akira Toriyama doing the character design (He created the Dragon Ball series), It's a lengthy and involved RPG and well worth a play of you ever get a hold of a copy, it initial release was on the Famicom/NES and currently has over 10 games in the series.

Persona or Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is a JRPG series that has been running since the PSX days. It exploded into western culture when Persona 3 P3 was released to the EU and US in 2007/8 almost a year after it's initial Japanese release. It was succeeded by the famous Persona 4 P4, which holds critical acclaim with an almost perfect 100% review rating. Since it's inception the Persona series has spawned a successful anime series, manga and a cult following.

Disgaea is also a popular JRPG from the PS2 days, in true JRPG style is battle system is turn based and it make heavy use of 2D sprite art to give it an authentic classic JRPG and anime feel, even with it's latest release on the PS3 the visual style has been kept the same.

Ys is an Action RPG which has also been around for well over 2 decades, it's action based (the older series was turn based AFAIK) so combat is real time as opposed to other classic JRPG's. It follows a set story path which is played out across multiple games, I honestly am speaking on general knowledge from YS, as I have not played much of the series, I do see it is on steam I may just give it a try.

Gundam is a popular mecha (giant robot) manga and anime series that has been running in Japan since the early 70's. Like the games above it too has been around for quite some time, sadly many of the games are licensed solely in Japan make it a little harder to obtain. Western releases were made notably the "Dynasty Warriors Gundam" series was licensed in the West. Sadly it was not well received and got average to low review score, probably due to people not knowing much about the gundam series. Also DW is not known for it's gripping story and dialogue it's a beat'em up.

Okay back to my studies!~
