The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

I never saw Naruto on tv what year was that?
I remember watching digimon and the other digimon shows on k-tv.

Naruto has been on SABC 2(?) for a while now. I don't have a Television in the house so I am not too sure where they are currently.

Your opinion is less popular than you might think. The problem I have with them is that many people tend to focus most of their attention on one show at a time, which means that the long running shows take up all of the time they could use to experience various other series.

I'm actually very happy I started off with a mix of shows ranging from mecha, sci-fi, fantasy, romantic comedy, psychological and horror. It gave me some good exposure to the range of subjects that anime can cover.

For example - my memory's a bit fuzzy - but off the top off my head, the first shows I watched were: Evangelion, Golden Boy, Slayers, Ah! My Goddess, Onegai Teacher, Gunslinger Girls and Serial Experiments Lain. That's about as diverse as you can get.

I think one of the bigger problems also is because Naruto, BDZ, Pokemon are all over the place people perceive this as the standard anime is derived from, they need to broaden their thoughts on it and lessen the thought that it is "childish" and "Cartoony" and think of it more as another form of viewing television or a story.

One Piece? That sounds like something the SABC will do, Skip showing Shippuuden and move onto something else. It's over 15 years old and still going, so the SABC is bound to show it up to a certain point.

I forgot it will be dubbed and not subbed. The US is currently at 272.They are going to can it about about 130 odd...

Also found this on facebook with a bit of googling. It was posted on the 4th of september.
Who remembers the mess up SABC 2 made with One Piece last month? Well, yesterday I was told by a friend that the show was scheduled to appear on the 9th of this month

To make sure, phoned SABC 2 themselves to find out what's what, and learned that while One Piece will not be out this month, SABC 2 will show it as soon as Transformers Prime is done and as soon as they've finalized the airing contract

Also, after explaining the problem with 4Kids dub, they've promised to look into which English version they'll be getting, to ensure they don't get burned with the 4Kids version, as you can see from the email they sent me yesterday attached below

So... how many episodes are left of TF: Prime again? ^^

Oh the SABC... What a Joke! Seriously just make use of CR or HR. Problem solved.

Nah I avoid watching stuff on tv. Rather watch it on CR or wherever else.

Can't really blame the man he is just a terribly bad with people. Period. All will be revealed in the episode coming tomorrow.

On a side note... There is something about Cheadle Yorkshire, that I just can't resist...

I need to start Akame Ga Kill, and catch up on Aldnoah.Zero as well (I'm only 4 or 5 episodes in).

Ging is certainly not a peoples person, that's for sure. I like how he thinks though. But goodness, Pariston is something else .

The side of Pariston we are seeing in the anime is only the surface, He is extremely calculating and has ulterior motives in mind for being the Hunter Association Chairman.

I dont have a favourite, i have probably watched over 100 anime series but i cant choose a favourite. I am watching Fairytail... and i know people will be like "it cant be a favourite cuz its mainstream..." but im finding it awesome, id recommend it, as well as black lagoon, hellsing, witchblade, code geuss(excuse spelling), ao no exorcist, high school of the dead, K-ON, sengoku otome momoiro paradox(battle girls), attack on titan, and for the viewer less sensitive about body parts being shown queens blade.

Also - if you're in the mood for some space-based sci-fi action that doesn't revolve around mechs, you should check out the latest iteration of Space Battleship Yamato.

I got that from a friend a while ago and it caught my eye, I just have not had the time to get around to it. I am watching Persona Soul Trinity (second attempt) it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Other than that I am totally absorbed into 'From the new world'. Soul eater has taken a back seat.

Shin sekai Yori, is the most beautiful and disturbing anime I have had the pleasure to watch in a long time. Forget Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Elfen Lied, they are intentionally made to give you a shock. Shin Sekai is on another level, it does not need to give you a shock since all the pieces that are needed are already there, you just have to realise that the world they are living in is very real. Oscar Wilde once said "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life" which rings so true to Shin Sekai. The whole time I watched I felt as if this is real, this can be our future, the world is fucked up and the utopia in which the characters are living is no different.

Okay onto something a little more fun, Hayate the Combat Butler!

Which season? First season is okay, second season isn't too bad either - anything from the third season onwards is a load of bollocks, and you should avoid it.
