$5 coupon from Paypal

I've seen stuff like this before. When PayPal started up, there were loads of surveys that offered coupons upon completion. A buddy of mine in the US funded his metal CD collection for a whole year by doing said surveys!

I'm fairly sure they're trying to promote their "Checkout with Paypal" thing. Which doesn't mean much to South Africans anyway, since no local shops accept paypal.

This. They've done it before, $5 is nothing to them if they promote their system to someone

Well I put in my email and they said they would send it to me within a certain time.. thought it would recieve it straight away but now it's a waiting game.. hope it arives eventually

Yeah I still haven't received any email yet, but I'l sure if this is a legit promo, we'll get our coupons by this weekend.

No they won't. As I mentioned earlier, PayPal has done stuff like this before. At a larger scale even...

I think it's to avoid abuse of the rep system, so you can't artificially boost your rep

but that would require OTHERS to rep you, so still don't see how an individual could abuse the system

You would have to collaborate with someone, like have a conversation and rep every post, and they rep all yours. So to avoid that, you have to give a few other people rep first, and I think there's a time limit as well.
