iPhone 6, 6 Plus unveiled by Apple

A bit underwhelming if you ask me, there's nothing revolutionary about it, just bigger screen, better processor, better camera.

Was expecting maybe some big new feature that would set them apart from the rest of the market.

I suppose there's enough apple fanboys who will flock for this anyway.

While the launch didn't provide anything new or ground breaking, it's a solid line-up Apple is creating now, and I'm glad to see them going with 4.7 and 5.5 inch screens. Also, all the other cell phone makers haven't really been pushing the envelop with new and radical ideas. Each phone that gets launch these days is just a faster and bigger version of the previous model. There is no real innovation when it comes to the mobile phone industry of late.

Let's be honest, the only thing that makes one phone better/worse that the other is software. It's more a war between Android and iOS that it is Apple vs Samsung/HTC/Sony/LG. And even then, your phone will only be good or bad depending on the apps you use on it, rather than the 20% faster CPU or whatever.

But due to this, the allure of Apple has dimmed significantly. While in the past, the iPhone was considered the best smart phone money can buy, there are way too many other alternatives for Apple to keep that crown. It's probably not a bad thing, seeing as more competition is always good for the consumer, but I can't help wonder who will be the first major manufacturer that will bring "the next big thing".

Ya that's the problem with today's market, it is too much of a risk to try something radically different. Ideally you want a new take on an existing popular feature that you know will be well received.

I agree it's mostly down to the OS anyway, and that's where I think android has the upper hand. Not because it's a better OS (not getting into that debate), but because of it being on multiple devices. it leaves room for the Manufacturer to try new things with their device knowing they will have a solid OS behind it.

No mention of the Apple Watch? I know its also nothing new, but my God is it Puuuurdy... Way better looking than the Galaxy gear... I really like how they have used the whole face of the watch as the screen, and they have given serious thought to the "fashion" statement a watch can make...

Indeed, it's a handsome thing, but I'n not yet sold on the whole smart watch idea. Probably because I have never ever tried one, but still.

I guess if there is a company that can make smart watches a "must have" accessory it's Apple, so I'll probably be singing a different tune in the coming years.

Look i agree wholeheartedly, its a complete gimmick in my opinion... Iv got a mate who works at Samsung and he has all the gears to date, including the Fit, and from what iv seen its a gadget... Until it does something seriously useful im not too interested...

If they could integrate the features of a Polar watch with the "smartness" I would be seriously interested....

And for the life of me I cannot figure out why they didn't do that. I mean that would make the watch an absolute must-have device for many people. I'm pretty sure if they can add the features currently on the watch, surely doing something similar to Polar would be doable. Especially with something called the Fit...I mean come on

My thinking exactly! They are already doing it with Polar, Garmin, Suunto etc, Then they go with such a half arsed effort with the Galaxy range... I understand they not targeting the "sporting" community at large, but they are seriously punting the healthy living lifestyle, and the watch is not nearly as capable as many bottom range "fitness" watches...

I'ts an icrap nuff said :p i won't switch from samsung/android ever again i love android and samsung specially with the new ADH function for samsung

I *was* going to give you + rep for this, but then I saw you got it from 9Gag, which stole it from imgur, which actually linked to the source. I really hate 9Gag. And I'm petty A-F.

Very funny though!

I didn't actually get that from 9gag though, I stay WELL away from 9gag. I saw it on twitter, It did upset me when I saw 9gags watermark =/
