that's what my old flatmate did. chick kept phoning him cause her Win XP was slow and complaining about disk space. so after repeatedly telling her to clean up her Documents folder and her yelling at him that she did, he remoted onto her system and went "oh look, here's about 100gb worth of downloaded movies that's not allowed on your work machine... *DELETE*"
needless to say she didn't phone back again

Keep your movies and shit on externals so they can't complain

Problem as well is that backups are my responsibility and in our line of business, information is extremely sensitive. With things like the POPI act and such, I am not allowed to backup some data and you are not allowed to store personal data on your work computers (though some leniencies are allowed of course).

Yep, I deal with Pharmaceuticals quite a bit and they are anal retentive to begin with and have laws coming out of all orifices, same as when you deal with banks (PCI-DSS, Sarbanes–Oxley, etc, etc)

Take away admin rights, configure roaming profiles and folder redirection, enable file screen policy on roaming/redirected target, disable all but the required USB ports (usually 2), disable on board sound...sit in your office and play games the rest of the year
