What should I play next??

I am about to finish Bioshock Infinite.. I am undecided on what to play next.. I have a huge backlog of games from the past few years. So seriously just suggest anything you enjoyed in the last few years.

I have a backlog because I got into online gaming (RIFT and Battlefield mostly but that's just naming a few) and never got around to finishing all my singleplayer games. But now is the time to act!

So.. post 1) Your favourite game of the past 2-3 years, or 2) A game I have to without a shadow of a doubt play.

Thanks ;)

Wow. Not like we know what titles you have, so this is a very broad spectrum. But some of my personal favorites and suggestions would be; (in no particular order and no specific platform was stated)

Bastion
Transistor
Fez
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Tomb Raider
The Last of Us
The Last of Us Left Behind
Thomas was Alone
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Prison Architect

Broad is what I am aiming for :) I want as many options as possible. Also it doesn't matter if I own the games currently or not, there are so many sales and bundles nowadays I'm sure whatever is suggested I can pickup fairly easily at some point.

I have been playing Prison Architect and loving it so far, I do also have Fez so that might be an option. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons looks very interesting aswell.. hmm

OP, how about you tell us a bit more about the games you enjoy, then we can be more specific in the type of games we list here.

But, here are some highlights you cannot miss in some genres:

FPS:
Wolfenstein: New Order

RPG:
Divinity - Original Sin

Action:
Dead Rising 3

Adventure:
Indie titles like Papers, Please or The Stanley Parable

Racing:
GRID Autosport

Well since I've been playing Bioshock Infinite, I was leaning towards an RPG but my problem is I play everything... which is why I am so undecided.

If you want RPG's, I suggest the Mass Effect trilogy. 1 & 2 have been out for some time, but Mass Effect 3 only released in 2012. I know the ending sucked and was disappointing, but the games were still awesome. They are even better with some of the DLC added.

You can also play The Witcher 2, which is brilliant as well.

I have played through the ME series and it was amazing indeed. I do need to finish the Witcher 1 and 2 still

There are many options, but just off the bat since its on sale Kingdoms of amalur was damn good, i was very disappointed the studio shut down a nice mix of rpg and action game.

Bastion also very cool, It all Depends, maybe you should give us a list of games you have and are considering then we can argue over which ones are worthy.

I like the idea of a thread based on this idea.

I'll second Kingdoms of Amalur, great game.

I'd say get into some shorter games to clear your backlog a bit. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a great suggestion by BeoTeK. Tomb Raider as well, although it does take a good 16 odd hours to complete.

If you really want to spend some time in a great game, get a copy of Guild Wars 2. ;)

I've always heard mixed opinions about Kingdoms of Amalur (maybe it's just me)which is why I've never really picked it up. What about it makes it great to you?

I'm not much a lover of Kingdoms of Amalur. I found it becomes too grindy and too easy, gets boring quickly.

Play the new tomb raider. Awesome gameplay and story.
The one game where I can say the player character acts.......when she is in a gunfight you can see she is kakking herself and is clueless, judging by her body language. Brilliance.

You can also add Injustice: Gods Among Us to your list... I recently started playing it again after shelving it form 7 months. It's an absolute blast, especially playing online against friends!

FarCry3 and Blood Dragon

I have to be brutally honest... Far Cry 3 was brilliant, up to a point. As soon as I got access to the second island I just felt the game became an immense chore. I had to start freeing camps again and scouting radio towers. I had to fight patrols and do hunting and medical missions again. I think they should've just stuck to one LARGER island and it would've felt fresh all the way to the end. I still haven't completed it, just because of this reason.

I played the game twice...

The first time, my copy of the game was from the interwebs. I played it quick, and got to the second island in a few hours.

Then I bought the game, and decided to do much more. I played about 90 hours on the first island, getting EVERY lost letter and rune and everything else, and then I went to the second island. I started down the same path... every outpost, every letter, etc... and then I stopped playing. After about a month, I decided one day that I am going to go and finish the game, so I left all the side missions and just went straight for the boss.

The thing with this game is to get the correct balance... you need to do a lot, so that you can upgrade stuff and get the skills, but if you do TOO much then you will get bored. Not a game to do achievement hunting (well for me, anyways..)
