I would love one but truth be told I've got a backlog of pc and Xbox 360 games that I got to work through first.

That and it costs a lot of money that I can't really part with right now.

More or less the same on my side, except the optical drive gave in 6 months down the line. I swopped it out a year later for the same issue, when that one RROD'd on me 3 years later, just out of RROD warranty. My wife bought me my final XBOX a year later, after which I sold it 11 months later due to not playing on it at all.

Since then i've become a PS fan and own both a 3 and 4, even though I spend 90% of my game-time on PC.
 
If I got next gen (which I would like to) then I'd get the ps4 over the xbone.. but at the moment I just don't have the moola for them.. and I still want build myself a pc which will suck my wallet dry..
 
So it seems that the general feeling about the Xbox launch is an overwhelming "Meh". It's quite understandable actually, after all that's been said negatively about the console the past year about the console. I foresee that sales will no be as high as that of the PS4, and I think the price has a lot to do with that.

I don't think it's got to do with price. I think it's more related to performance and the major factor is; the delayed release which forced everyone to enter the next-gen race with one choice, PS4!

I would love to get it, and as you would see from my other (related) thread, I am very much considering it. As we spoke about it, you know I too am a Forza fan through and through.

I was lucky enough to play some Forza 5 on Xbox One last year at rAge. From the moment you pick us the controller, to the way in which the trigger keys rumble individually, the game felt awesome. It was actually quite interesting to see so much feedback from the controller, and you could actually feel the under-steer from the controller. You would love it, seeing as you are just as big of a car fanatic as me. So with Forza, Driveclub, Horizon and Halo MC, you may have more than 1 reason to buy an Xbox One...

You make a fair point about the price. The fact that the Xbox is launching so late has seriously effected the need to buy one, what with the PS4 already on market for almost a year.
 
huge fan of the XBOX360, which i believed was superior to PS3. but for this GEN, i am planning to swing the other way. Ps4 just looks more appealing. I
 
Well gosh darnit GrootHammer... you have made quite a predicament of this. You do realize that afaik, Edcon accounts have a 6month interest free period!
 
What is XBL policy now?

I know this has changed a little in the past few months, or since I last had Xbox. Is XBL Gold still required to play muliplayer? In which case I won't go Gold route, I'll merely use the Xbone for single (offline) play.

You do realize that you will then be my one and only Xbox friend? :P (and possibly matt, think I have him already).

Yes you do need Gold for online play and for cloud saves. They also will be increasing the number of games XBL Gold gets free to compete with Playstation. And it's 100% to have only 1 friend. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only Xbox fan on this forum (and I probably am)
 
I wouldn't say the only. I love the concept of Xbox and the kinect I personally feel to be a wonder of technology and what they do with it.

(I didn't want to give people an out - are you getting it at launch or aren't you? "Maybe later" is no. I guess the question should have contained the word "launch" :P)
 
I always wait for the price to come below R3k before I think of getting a console as I don't see the value in it when it is above that.
