Skullgirls Encore adds Eliza to its roster of femme fatales

The Phantom Poet
Skullgirls Encore, the indie hit fighting game by Lab Zero Games, has enlisted a new character to its roster of hard-hitting women. The new addition is Eliza, and she is the studio’s “most ambitious character to date” according to Peter Bartholow, the CEO of Lab Zero Games.

Any new roster addition wouldn’t be worth much if they didn’t bring something new to the fold, and she certainly does add something new. In order to fight, Eliza manipulates her own blood to attack enemies (brings a whole new meaning to the term Blood Sport), and her Egyptian origins will shine through as she can morph or shape-shift into various Egyptian mythological symbols and cultural icons. This is all thanks to the extensive research into Egyptian lore done by Lab Zero Games creative director, Alex Ahad..

I've heard and read some good things about Skullgirls. Is it really as good as they portray?

Neat, just added her to my account. She looks pretty cool.

Did the same as soon as I heard

Holy crap, Dude!!! The game is superfun! Accessible and easy to get into, but has enough depth and variety in its fighting mechanics and roster of characters.

Also, it has, by far, the best and most fleshed out tutorial/training mode (Practice Room) you'll ever find in a fighting game... No lies!

Don't forget there's also sweet multiplayer modes.

What say we round up a few members and create a myG lobby one evening? :D

I'm very tempted about this now. I'm keen to see what this is all about. Unfortunately Steam, XBL and PSN are all blocked at work so I can't even check prices etc.

Which would be the preferred platform? (bare in mind, I know nothing of this title)
PC or console? Is it single or multiplayer?

We're all playing on PC. It has single- and multiplayer. You know it's a fighting game, right? :p

lolz... that's about all I know. But my biggest problem with fighting games is they become boring/repetitive very quickly for me. At least most of them. What sets this apart that makes it so good?

Good net-code for one thing. It's the first fighting game I've been able to play online.

Guys, I've tried out Eliza, and goodness, she is a fun character to play with. Also got a proper beating after trying online for the 1st time (had fun while doing it though).

I could hardly find public lobbies =/
Pop a steam message when I'm online if you want some practice :D
