Dude there was a steam activationhl 2 was the launch game for steam.
Ok but then why is it not in my steam lib and never has been, and also that was back in the day when i hated steam and from what i can remember i didn't use steam but like i said it was a long time ago. so guess i can throw the disc away then

Maybe you should check the disc first to see if there's a "crack" folder on it "whistling:
Those were the only versions that didn't go through Steam. I remember it clearly because I was pissed as hell when HL2 came out. I really wanted it, but my internet bandwidth just didn't allow the updates and activation needed for it.

I just dug up mine. The key is on the insert of the jewel-case, if you chucked that you're out of luck. I have no idea how you would have played the game without it though.

Like i have said so many times before on the forum if a game has a collectors edition i buy it if it's worth while and just to show my legitness....................
I think i might have activated it on a previous steam account cos i sent a retrieve account through steam now but didn't get anything so guess i'm screwed

I would be so lucky as to have a printer at all, i can always take a picture of the back too if you want then you can see it's not that colored writable crap discs

Not yet. Just finished up at UNISA, but then they took away the qualification that I wanted to do next... Now I'm looking to get into Tukkies or UJ, and get some classes in after work. Tukkies is closest to me, but UJ's programme looks great.
