Project Cars has been pushed back until March 2015 in Europe and Australasia.

The Wii U version of the game had already been delayed to 2015, but today developer Slightly Mad Studios stated that a decision was made to move the title away from "the competitive holiday scene dominated by household names" - which means the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game have now also been delayed.

The delay will also afford Slightly Mad Studios additional time to "extend and polish their ground-breaking and accomplished next-gen racing experience".

“Our goal has always been to deliver a landmark title that encompasses the wishes and desires of racing fans from all around the world; something with features and content powered by the community that provide a truly unforgettable and pioneering experience,” said Ian Bell, Head of Studio at Slightly Mad.

“Whilst a tough decision to make, the change in release date allows the game the greatest chance of success and visibility, and the opportunity to polish the game even further to the high standards that both ourselves and our community demand and expect. We’re eager for you all to see what we’ve been working on in just a few months.”

We're seeking release confirmation for other territories and will update you as soon as we know more.

Project Cars is now scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March 20 2015. The Wii U release has still yet to be confirmed.

This actually suits me just fine :D now i don't have to cut down on buying other games that was going to be left out till later with this news. Thax Dochie

I need a new racing title, preferably something next/new/current-gen with sparkly graphics and loads of cars. I would've loved the new Forza, but I'm strictly a PC and PS4 gamer now.

Then your next best bet would probably be The Crew. Very! Arcadey!

If you could replace "very arcadey" with "somewhat simulatey" I would've been sold... Guess I'll have to wait a bit for something good to come along. Gives me time to work through my backlog, I suppose.

Dude. Then driveclub is the answer. It's a really nice blend between simulation and arcade, though not as arcade like as NFS.

Watched my buddy give some alpha version of the game a whirl yesterday... OMG!!! It looks SOOOOOOH good... wow... the amount of detail :O

I could see this delay a mile of they are a small team releasing on every platform this is not a bad thing ,release when it is ready.

Don't mean to res an old(ish) thread, but didn't wanna start a new one JUST for this.

New teaser video for the Golden Joystick awards coming soon. Guess they'll be releasing new footage/info then as well.
