Xbox One game trade-ins explained

I wonder if the store pays the activation fee large scale for all the games as they come in or on a "you-pay-then-we-activate" basis. If it's the latter, it is going to be a nightmare, especially with clowns like BT. One more reason to start looking at the PS4 instead, imo.

Well it's not confirmed that PS4 won't be doing something similar. We'll find out at E3 I guess...

I suppose the amount payable is going to be the make or break here.
It's also going to be very good for the devs who lose a lot of money because currently they're not getting a cut of used sales, for games that cost them millions to make for us to enjoy.
I don't mind paying if it means it'll help keep the industry alive.

This a thousand times over.

People are bitching about the Xbox One and its policies but we have no idea what the PS4 will be doing in this regard.
Microsoft still fucked up with the launch event though lol

Well I hope Sony is taking notes.

Wait if the store still has to pay the activation key, then won't they charge extra for the game??????
And what about game rentals?Did MS really think this thing through? All they want is MORE money, greedy vultures.

UUUgggh Microsoft what evil schemes are you yet to unveil?

All good and well so, just wonder if this activation fee goes to the distributor in sa or will it be an online thing that requires an unsafe payment method neither of these are to my fancy as i work in the industry.

Hey guys
If the console thing doesn't work out there's always the good old PC.

So, to summarise, you will purchase a second-hand game according to its lowered retail price. Then the store will pay the activation fee, and you're free to take your used game home, according to the source.

I can see BTgames fsuking this up so badly. . .

So with lending a game, would you still need to pay an activation fee if you have that person's account on your xbox? Kind of like how you can sort of share PSN games by just keeping a profile with that person's account details and then once you download a game from their PSN account, it becomes available to all the profiles on the PS?

Microsoft will probably make it that the same profile cannot be online at the same time if you borrow it to a friend.
I'm already looking to the PS4....Sony....please don't screw us too.
