Bloodborne: the official thread

it's very depressing to find stock availability mails from raru and takealot and see people on MyGaming who are playing Bloodborne... :(

FUCK YOU KALAHARI!

One for the newcomers, actually quite a good run down and explanation.

And ENB returns...

Dude, I'm still stuck on Old Gascoigne for the past two nights [emoji24]
At least your stuck on a boss and not a normal enemy like me [emoji14]

Luckily this bastard won't respawn if I kill him either, but I am having a real tough time with him. Burned through all of my bullets and blood vials and misc items like molotovs etc. but I just can't beat him. The fact that there is a bunch of other enemies in the area that keep interfering is also not helping.

WHERE IS THE GAWD DAMN LANTERN!?!?!?

I had to quit after 2 hours to try and save what was left of my sanity. If I had to play through central Yharnam one more time.... I'll try again tomorrow

so many blood echoes lost

Just had an awesome session. Finally managed to beat that hunter a little while ago and then I thought I'd give co-op a try. Got summoned and was playing well, we managed to reach the boss but I died when he reached about half his health. Next I thought I'd try summoning and the guy I end up with is pretty decent, helping me fight the beasts and showing me the pick ups in the area. Right before we got to the boss area a third player joined and I knew the boss was going down. It was still a very tough battle with some close calls, but we managed to kill him in the end. Ended up with over 18K blood echos and I'm about the use them for some much needed stat increases. I love this game. :D

Having never played Dark Souls or any game by Hidetaka Miyazaki how difficult would it be to just start playing Bloodborne?

With all this fantastic reviews I'm curious.

Well if you like a challenge and don't mind learning from all the dying you will be doing I would definitely recommend you at least give it a try. It can be overwhelmingly difficult for newcomers, but once you get to grips with the game mechanics you should be fine. The game is very difficult but never unfair IMO and if you are patient and learn how to effectively fight each enemy and not just rush in you will find that there are few games out there that can be as rewarding as Bloodborne (or the Souls games).

Lol thanks Wlad. I'll wait a month or two to mentally prepare. Besides I at this point the demand far outstrips supply. Stock seems to be rare.

I was worried about this being too much of a learning curve and challenge for new comers. I am reading about people spending 6 hours in the Hunters Dream and quitting the game, people spending 6 hours on the first boss/enemy and quitting. But this one really takes it...

After 18 hours and countless death I defeated the first boss...never played a dark souls game in my life...
So I know this game was gonna be hard but I wasn't expecting it to be this hard lol...
I been sick for the last two days so I been playing bloodborne a lot. I'm level 20 now and finally defeated the first boss, after about 18hours or so
And boy must I say I now feel great. I keep pushing little by little in this game. I want more.
We can do this fellow hunters!!!

I only play online (unless forced to be offline for reasons). It's the way the game was intended to be played, also I quite like seeing the bloodstains and messages. Quirks of the game I guess.

Still having an issue with seeing specters. Anyone else?

Just got the rifle spear, such a badass weapon but I still prefer the kirkhammer. Got my eye on this greatsword looking weapon in the store, but it's 20000 amd then I also need another 10000 for a key to a gate in the Chapel area. Guess it's time for some farming...
