Lol, I thought you sold it.

Growing up with your PC always being the shittiest one out of all your friends and never being able to run new games smoothly kinda makes you used to lower framerates. [emoji14]

Aah ok, I see. This time try not to sell it again. It might not be a "glorious PC" but it's still a decent machine.

Back on topic: [MENTION=4071]BeoTeK[/MENTION] [MENTION=22]Deceptor[/MENTION]. Any of you manage to beat Father Gasgoicn (something like that) yet? If so, could you give me some pointers/tips? Gonna try again tonight but was tearing me a new one yesterday.

Yeah I took him down yesterday. Best thing to do is fight him in a open area so you can dodge easily. I kept getting stuck by the gravestones. Stay pretty close to him so you can use your gun. If you're lucky and get a shot in at the right time it will stun him, so then you can do the counter move which does massive damage. At some point he will transform into a werewolf(I think?), then he will attack with greater force but not as fast.

Also saw that you can use the oil + molotov to do some decent damage. But you might miss because the guy moves quite fast.

I got that music box you told me about and if I use it during the fight he becomes stunned for a few seconds and then I can get a hit or two in, but it also makes him go into beast form much quicker. Do you think he is easier to fight in human form or beast form? So far I managed to stay alive (just barely) with him in human form, but in beast form he wrecks me in seconds.
 
I only finished up the Cleric Beast, haven't ventured much further. Though before that I found myself wandering the sewers and thought I shouldn't be there. Gonna play a kak huis tonight.

Right, Father Gascoigne just fucked me up solid. Think I got one hit in.

managed to get him down to half life a few times, but he just varies his attacks so much and constant barrage on you. Unlimited stamina!

I'm so on the fence about this game. Most of it sounds very good, I think I'm really in need of a challenging game, but I've never played a Souls title and I'm usually turned off by games with minimal or vague story aspects. So I don't know whether I want to spend the high asking price for something I might not like. Guess I'll wait for a price drop unless I come into some extra money I won't worry too much about spending on something I might not enjoy [emoji14]

Then I would be inclined to say, rather get Dark Souls 2 as a nice starter. The story in any Souls series is extremely open ended and let's you piece it together how you see fit. As an example a colleague and I have two very different takes on Artorias and Sif from Dark Souls 1.
 
Is official release only tomorrow (25th)? Somehow thought it was the 24th? Maybe worth trying CNA or Toys-R-Us?
 
I read Jim Sterlings review and he compares the game to demon souls that is great to here and most reviews seem to say that it is it"s own game and that excites me.

Yeah he can be a real bitch. Took me about 15 tries to take him down. Check the spoiler tags in the previous posts [MENTION=22]Deceptor[/MENTION] and I made. If you get the quest he mentions you get something that might or might not help with this fight.

I like to try alone without any aids or assistance a few times first.

I have a Music Box which it's item description has his name and Viola. I've put two and two together that I must need to do something with it, but it doesn't really do much but open it and close it. Unless I use it in the boss fight with him, which I haven't tried.

And what do you guys make of the loading times?

I don't really mind them as it tends to give you a breather and relax you a little.
