Surely that should read, "Valve also announced that its Holiday Auction would begin soon..."

Hmm auction sounds awesome but I think the prices would skyrocket with over 3mil users.

auction has been suspended due to "gremlins"

edit : Extract from steam website :
Sorry, but there have been some issues with Gems and the Steam Holiday Auction has been temporarily closed. The elves are working frantically to get the issues sorted out, and the auction will start again as soon as they're done.

Why didn't you just sell them? Some cards and backgrounds and things go for surprisingly good amounts of money.

Most of the junk in my inventory was up for sale in market since the summer sale. Sudden 3 emoticons get sold within an hour of each other. It was at that stage that I started to suspect shenanigans. So now I've pulled all the other junk and I'll see what I can get in gems.

    Probably not today.

I used to sell all my cards, but after a while I decided to crafted 3 or 4 badges to gain backgrounds and so on. I lost interest and now have 2 pages in my inventory full of cards, emoticons, backgrounds and vouchers. I'll sell my stuff again next year to stock up on funds in my wallet for a sale.

G2a.com is like steam sales all year round! But the only game I care about is MGSV: Ground Zero not bothered about auction either as I have nothing rare anyway

I don't understand how people have got over 100k worth of gems to bid on stuff. I was gonna a sell a card, and it only gave 22 gems!
