Well I'm on the flipside of the coin here. I am still sitting with GTX280s, which have 1GB memory and stuck with DX10. For me to go with GTX460 is silly, because I like the idea of having more video RAM available, so the GTX460's are 1GB cards as well I think? So no upgrade in that department then. The GTX580 is definitely faster than a GTX480, which means it's faster than my current GTX280 SLi setup. It has more RAM (+1), runs cooler than a GTX480 (+1) and is a great replacement for my dual card setup. And in future when the prices come down even more, I might even buy a 2nd one....then I'll have GTX580s...in SLi

That said. If you own a GTX480, then buying this card makes no sense. If you have GTX460's in SLi, then good for you - but remember to compare that to GTX580s in SLi. Apples with Apples folks.

Well those are completly different cards and different price ranges. 2x of these cards are less then the price of 1x GTX580. When it is time to upgrade the GTX680 will be out. And then i will get 2 of those. Each to his own though. the GTX460's still remain faster then a single 580.

Uhm....I don't know if you saw the reviews, but a single GTX580 kicks a GTX460 SLi setup in the crotch?
