3D Realms’ Bombshell has finally gone gold, thus ending any more jokes of another delayed 3D Realms game (which are apparently so original in this day and age according to the studio).

Developed along with Interceptor Entertainment, Bombshell is an isometric shooter which features aliens, destructive weapons and an evil scientist. 3D Realms has ensured that the game is locked in for a January 29th release on PC. It will retail for $34.99 for the standard edition and $39.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition, the latter including early beta access to the Build Engine prequel, digital artbook, world map overviews and the official soundtrack.

Bombshell will be heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well though a release date for both these platforms has yet to be revealed.

Mmmm...am I the only one that had never even heard of this IP until now?

Yes you are, it's got an interesting history with them originally trying to release it under that *ahem* other IP they sold... was quite interesting. So they had to make up a new IP.

its surprising how a company like this can survive without releasing anything in years and then other companies release one shit game and then things go belly up for them.

or they release 1 awesome game and then fold. like Big Huge Games

Seems like it could be fun, wouldn't call it a AAA game, also seems a bit pricey at $34.99 ? Its like R580 for an isometric shooter
