5 hardware upgrades for less than R600

I've heard from a couple of guys that they aren't able to stream HD over wireless N... Has this been tested with the gear in the article?

I need something like that if you are able to steam HD...

I am not sure what you guys are smoking but I was unable to believe that a Logitech MX518 mouse was around R250. This might be possible if it was used, but they dont break.

Please provide correct information. These prices are misleading and bs

Try doing some research before calling BS, just makes you look like a clown.

Most of these upgrades are terrible suggestions / BS stories.

D-Link DAP1360 + IPtime Wireless N dongle:
Wireless N won't make any difference when it comes to gaming, but it would make a difference with regards to wireless range and file transfer speeds.

This router is not an ADSL modem too, and most people don't like to have separate WiFi AP's. You can get much cheaper 802.11n WiFi AP's.

Coolermaster V6:
If you want to do basic overclocking, rather just get a Coolermaster Hyper212+ for about half the price.

Corsair Vengeance 2x2GB:
Rather go for 2x 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 1.5V (at roughly the same price) than for higher speed 2x 2GB. You won't notice the performance difference in games.

Logitech MX518:
Zalman Z9 gaming chassis:
These 2 options are the only ones that I do agree with.

Im in the mood to pawn people today, and you just asked for it.

Ok 1st off I have a coolermaster V6 on a AMD Phenom II x6 1055T @ 3.8Ghz.
It idles at around 26c and runs under full load at around 45c

Please go ahead and try that with a Cm Hyper 212, and watch you're chip fry.
The cm hyper is basic cooling, a V6 gives pretty damn good cooling under pretty decent overclocking.

The price of the V6 is a bit high but its def a million miles better than a hyper 212.

I find I can't do that on my PS3 from my PC, it lags biiiiiiiig time... I have to transfer the files over first before watching them. if it's a normal 700mb file then it's ok :)

Ok I was a bit quick to comment. But I did some research and alot of online stores are no longer selling this item, although advertised. The back log of orders appears to be very long.
Here are a few with supplier issues.
ComX
Kalahari
Prophercy has eta unknown.
Tech Planet back order is at 17

I found the mouse at both Chaos Computer and ComputerMania (Cape Town) for around R400.

So peace

As far as I am aware you must have 300N wireless to stream HD content. But maybe got to www.ps3mediaserver.org and ask them on there forum. They are very help full

Logitech MX518 - That's my boy right there, hasn't let me down yet!
Also that Coolermaster V6 looks frigging awesome, would get it this minute if switching out CPU coolers wasn't such a tricky business.

it's articles like these that get me thinking.......maybe pc gaming isn't that expensive after all......colour me interested

I stream HD content (720p) over 11g

So if you cannot do it on your 11n then there is a problem.
