Yeah but ive seen some guyz that make like a thing that fits around the Xbox keeping it in its original form with just a cover.

Secondly, I agree that consoles "just work". That is indeed awesome! I have had many a HULK SMASH moment trying to get games to work. But my arguments for PC are simple. FPS and RTS. They are simply better with mouse and keyboard. You can have your arcade fighting games. But it's much easier to hook up a gamepad to a PC than....well...use a mouse and keyboard on a console....

Plus the price of Console games is outrageous. I get that buying second hand games is win, and kinda balances out the price. But slapping R600 on the counter for game will still make my pockets burn.

I don't think that PC is necessarily better than Console. I think they serve different markets. Consoles are for NOOBS who want to button mash...

FPS on consoles are just as good as their PC counterparts. The only reason PC gamers moan about FPS on console is because they are too NOOB to use the controllers better.

Agreed, at first i was also like "htf am i supposed to use a controller?" actually ended up quite enjoyable just 3>4 rounds and you get the hang of it.

Edit: Btw cobalt, Azi can rebuttal your rebuttal with PC's are for people who want to click mash :D

Edit again: And you can also consider PC games as button mashers, "click click click click click click click click click, Hold W + Shift, V , click click click click click click click click click" thats fps ppl dont get me started on RTS player shortcut keys. I mean take a look at this keyboard from microsoft http://www.techflash.com/seattle/20...d_will_let_gamers_smoosh_26_keys_at_once.html i mean WHO THE HELL CAN PUSH 26 buttons at once!

Didn't Tarryn write an article in a magazine not so long ago called "Don't be that guy"? I fear she may have just been that guy. Seems someone is going for the hippocratic gold-award. LOL I also love the cliche where most female writers / columnists / journalists simply HAVE to use the word "penis" in their articles....you don't need Mythbusters to prove that one correct.

Very True, Though i must say i have bigger problem with the FPS on PS3. Took me a while to get the hang of Kill Zone 2's controls. As for the Xbox though, I actually played most of Crysis with one. :P

Also, I've been writing for MyGaming now for - what? six months? - and I'm sure that's the first time I've said "penis". Clearly you're fixated on penises.

slay me if you must but i prefer all gaming platforms that offer me entertainment value, if it has a game i want to play, i'll use it. that said i don't have a wii as it does not have games i want to play.

sheesh, circular arguments. console folks slam the pc, pc guys slam consoles. it's the same pudding different sauce and it's getting old.
 
Heh ... those rebuttals made the article for me. Soz Azi, but if it had been posted without the rebuttals I would've been getting my flamethrower ready right about now. And when it comes to the whole PC vs Console argument - even if it had been tongue-in-cheek (which I doubt, given the tone of the article) - this is just going to add fuel to the fire. And I'm seeing way too much of it on this forum as it is.

Maybe it's time to agree to disagree. Some guys like consoles over PCs, others like PCs over consoles, and others, like me, just honestly don't give a crap and just want to play games. Given that we're all on myGaming, and not myPC, or myConsole - shouldn't we all perhaps fall into the final category?

PCs are alot more versitile than consoles. Yeah the PS3 has a browser and you can install linux on it. But it's still not nearly as capable as a PC. PC controlls also allow for much more sophisticated gameplay than consoles.

Mouse vs Controller debate: Yeah, you can be pretty awesome with a controller on FPS games with practice. But even a newbie player using a mouse and keyboard on a console would kick the most experienced controler player's backside to kingdom-come and back again! (Or a controler on the PC would work too)

And than theres also the sheer vesatility. Small features like leaning, there aren't enough buttons on most controllers for that. And don't say "yeah but I heardly ever use that.." well than you're just an idiot who doesn't use things to there full potential. So hush!!

Hardware reliability. Yeah, ok your console has a warrentee when things break. Well your shit shouldn't be breaking in the 1st place! Prevention is the best medicine, not a cure. PCs have various cut-offs incase of power surgese and overheating. So things rarely break unless you take a hammer to the damn thing. Aslo the curcuit boards in PCs are built alot more sturdy so impact is also less fatal.

No/small patches and updates. Shut up ya' lazy, impatient bum! Ok GTA 4 was a pain in ass, and it's put me off ever buying any win-live games again. I pride myself on being patient and willing to go through certain updates and the lot. But seriously, when I have go though installation, updates and registry of 5 million things I'll never ever be using just to play the single player , than I snap. SO FUCK YOU ROCKSTAR SOCIAL AND LIVE!!!

Games are cheaper on the PC. Yes it's an advantage. but it's not the reason I don't have a console, but it's an advantage. PCs aren't saturated with licenses and that sort of shit. As I've said other times. I would gladly pay double the price of current games, aslong as they are truly great games, but I'm thankfull that I don't have to.

Exclusives: Emulators! Why do I need a console anyways when I can have one my on PC? I'm a patient person, I'm just waiting for the PS3 and 360 emulators to come out. Than I can play some of those so called "exclusives" anyways. (And don't give me legal bullshit, I'm not listening anymore.)

yeah, now that the EA/SGS polo ticks have been sorted out, theres a serious amount of slots available, in fact there's now a bit of a slump in comparison to the 1st few weeks of BC2 release.

Thanks RavenGold. After wincing my way through your post (use a spellchecker please - you managed to give versatility two different spellings) - you're just escalating the whole matter. Neither is particularly better than the other.

Deal with it.

Regarding hardware reliability - things break on PCs just as often as consoles. The only bonus is that you don't have to take the whole PC in to be repaired - you can just replace the offending part. If you're enough of a techie to figure out which part is giving you grief. And I'm a bit hazy on your point of circuit-boards in PCs being "tougher". Really? They use the same materials. And dropping your PC or console will have pretty much the same effect.

Any more facts you want to snatch out of thin air? You're actually weakening the PC lover stances with your ravings.

This is true, RTS on consoles generally suck. However I recently played Ensemble Studio's Halo Wars and for a console RTS its petty entertaining. PC RTS still take the cake though.
 
Halo Wars is pretty much the only RTS that has ever worked properly on console, and that's largely because the game is quite simple. Something like Starcraft 2 or even large scale management games like SimCity wouldn't work on console. At least, not on a controller.

Yep that is why it worked, its RTS 101. But i guess the PC guyz need at least 1 genre their platform can do properly. :p
