5 reasons console gaming>PC gaming

I am tired of these wars. I play on a pc as I enjoy using a keyboard and mouse. But would happily own a console. But a pc is more than enough to satisfy my gaming hunger.

But PC is better blah blah blah! Ok thats out of the way time for some proper trolling.

PCs are alot more versitile than consoles. Yeah the PS3 has a browser and you can install linux on it. But it's still not nearly as capable as a PC. PC controlls also allow for much more sophisticated gameplay than consoles.

Mouse vs Controller debate: Yeah, you can be pretty awesome with a controller on FPS games with practice. But even a newbie player using a mouse and keyboard on a console would kick the most experienced controler player's backside to kingdom-come and back again! (Or a controler on the PC would work too)

And than theres also the sheer vesatility. Small features like leaning, there aren't enough buttons on most controllers for that. And don't say "yeah but I heardly ever use that.." well than you're just an idiot who doesn't use things to there full potential. So hush!!

Hardware reliability. Yeah, ok your console has a warrentee when things break. Well your shit shouldn't be breaking in the 1st place! Prevention is the best medicine, not a cure. PCs have various cut-offs incase of power surgese and overheating. So things rarely break unless you take a hammer to the damn thing. Aslo the curcuit boards in PCs are built alot more sturdy so impact is also less fatal.

No/small patches and updates. Shut up ya' lazy, impatient bum! Ok GTA 4 was a pain in ass, and it's put me off ever buying any win-live games again. I pride myself on being patient and willing to go through certain updates and the lot. But seriously, when I have go though installation, updates and registry of 5 million things I'll never ever be using just to play the single player , than I snap. SO FUCK YOU ROCKSTAR SOCIAL AND LIVE!!!

Games are cheaper on the PC. Yes it's an advantage. but it's not the reason I don't have a console, but it's an advantage. PCs aren't saturated with licenses and that sort of shit. As I've said other times. I would gladly pay double the price of current games, aslong as they are truly great games, but I'm thankfull that I don't have to.

Exclusives: Emulators! Why do I need a console anyways when I can have one my on PC? I'm a patient person, I'm just waiting for the PS3 and 360 emulators to come out. Than I can play some of those so called "exclusives" anyways. (And don't give me legal bullshit, I'm not listening anymore.)

Just when I think I have read the most idiotic thing you can come up with, you go and outdo yourself. :p Thanks for making me laugh ...

LOL, I can't help myself. I'm addicted to reading and looking for spelling and grammar mistakes. In this case I gave up looking about one paragraph into it. :p

Well I prefer it for various other reasons, and if my PC was speced to support modern games I may even change my mind on that one.

Played MW 2 on PC and BFBC 2 on Xbox 360 ... enjoying a shooting game on Xbox 360 much more. Although I am a sociopathic gamer and not really into multiplayer although when I did try opening multiplayer it gave me an error saying my profile was not correct.

Only RTS's are better on pc and the only one I would have bought was Command and Conquer 4 if you didn't have to have your internet on all the time and there wasn't all the problems of losing save games.

I can multi task ... I have my 24" monitor on the right for my xbox 360 and a 19" on the left for surfing but I have the problem of enjoying my games just so much I fail to see point of it.

I'm going to pretend we're in some far away land and this is actually a serious discussion.

The main reasons why I continue to use PCs for gaming:
1. The ultimate in flexibility. I can use my PC for everything and game exactly how I want to game. Any method of input I choose (mouse/keyboard, controller/sofa), 25.5" LCD or 52" Plasma, any sound setup, I can do it all with one box. Work, play, work while playing, porn while playing or all of the above in their own windows or their own screens.
2. I'm a graphics whore. There, I said it. Gameplay comes before graphics of course, but I always want to see a game at its absolute finest. The best looking console games always look better on PC. Jagged edges, pixellation, point blank viewdistance and framerate dips are not for me. Of course, premium graphics does come with a premium price tag.
3. Being on the bleeding edge! I suppose this one is self explanatory. Having access to the next next generation of everything, from hardware to software.
4. Digital Distribution. A massive repertoire of games available in the comfort of my home, legally, at some of the best prices around.

haha, yah, i agree! the buttom masher comment was just for jokes! i really dont rate that either one is better than the other. both have their merits.

you guys wana hug it out? :-D

Those who had not owned consoles are shut in the dark. They dont understand the epicness of story line games, RTS and FPS games are more aimed towards the competitive market while consoles are more for chilled days where not everyone wants to become aggro when playing a game. There should be a thing that says u should only post on this forum if u game on a pc and console, only then u will know which one is better. I prefere story line games much more than anything tbh, like MGS4 that was awesome. For those with pc's, be ashamed.

LOL, so console owners jget "aggro" on the forums it appears! Everyone's gotta have an outlet! :-D At least if you're getting aggro in pc games you can get achievement and unlocks. maybe they can do the same here.

"Achievement unlocked: CONSOLE FANBOY"

p.s. im not being serious btw! dig storyline games too. Just finished Dragon Age: Awakening! L:-D

Lol Tarryn, I saw you completely rage some poor forumite's face the other day for bringing up the whole, "PCs are better than consoles" nonsense. And look at you now :)

You just can't resist stirring the pot can you :)

i still enjoy using both consoles and pc, the real question should be whether you enjoyed the game or not

Good read. Especially Tinman trying to tap blood out of a very dry stone with some rebuttals. :)

Azi seems to have an almost OCD-like desire to be flamed like a Spock lookalike at a Star Wars convention.

Ummmm ... Dragon Age? Available on PC as well? Mass Effect 2? Same thing?

Oops ... another pointless statement. Last time I checked consoles had FPS titles as well

I'm guessing that since I've gamed on both I now have your permission to post here? Why, thank you for your generosity!! I bow before your benevolence, and I humbly beg your forgiveness for daring to own a PC as my primary gaming platform.

Sarcasm aside, maybe there should be a thing on the forum forbidding you to post if you make idiotic statements like the above.

There are perfectly good story games on PC. RTS and FPS's are great towards competative market is it? Ummm no i think its geared towards people who play games. Also there is just as much of a competitive scene in console gaming than there is on PC. As for your "u should only post on this forum if u game on a pc and console" comment. Maybe you missed the title of the website, MyGaming not MyTotalatarianGaming or MyGaming[only if u play multiplatform]

As for MSG4.... meh i like to play my games, not watch them.
