You’d think there would be loads of games about Jack the Ripper, but there’s only one – Visceral’s The Ripper
What a noobish thing to say! Does nobody remember the adventure/interactive movie game "Ripper"
released by Take-Two Interactive in 1996? Okay, so it's not exactly about Jack the Ripper, but it's
still technically based on him.
There's also a BigFish game called "Real Crimes: Jack the Ripper", but I'd be willing to agree that BigFish
products don't really count as games.
So... basically, you're saying there aren't any other games about Jack the Ripper? How I am a noob again?![]()
Well... What about Jack The Ripper (2004) by Cryo/Dreamcatcher/The Adventure Company?
All I'm saying is, the statement that "Visceral’s The Ripper" was the only game about Jack the Ripper is false.
How about Mirrors Edge 2
they are actually working on that one
But its not very consistent, one day we hear rumours and then months of silence. They mentioned the sequel first like 3 years ago.

From the Wikipedia article:
"The game is set in New York in 1901, where James Palmer, a reporter of the newspaper New York Today, is investigating a set of murders similar to those of 'Jack the Ripper' in Whitechapel 13 years earlier."
So, again, not the actual Jack the Ripper killings.
The only Jack the Ripper game set around the Whitechapel murders is an indie text adventure released for the Commodore and ZX Spectrum in the 80s, and it's much too obscure to even count.
Also, stop being so pedantic.
well i think dice might be polishing it as a launch title for the next generation of consoles thats almost upon us.

For the text adventure from CRL, see Jack the Ripper (1987 video game)

And if that's not enough...
Jack the Ripper (1987 video game)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jack the Ripper is a text adventure game released by CRL in 1987 for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum home computers. The game is based on the notorious "Jack the Ripper" murders of the 1880s.
Did you even read that? It's not the Whitechapel murders. Ergo, it's not the historical Jack the Ripper, but a work of complete fiction.
I already mentioned that one, pointing out that it's too obscure to be relevant.
Why are we still talking about this?
