80s Games where for REAL gamers!

Reading through all the posts that was made, made me think of the old 80s early nineties games.
these bring alot of memories, sitting around the Computer with friends spending COUNTLESS hours.

One specific Event: I went over a friends house, we played Ducktales. not thinking my mom told me "be home before dark!".... needless to say, 9PM my mom phoned my friends mom (yes cellphones only existed in movies like Total Recall). .....

MAN DID I GET A HIDING!!!!

I think I played all of those, except the Calgames one.

Winter Games was the first game I played on a PC. It was probably a 286, and ran an early version of DOS.
The game came on a 5 1/4" floppy disk.

My brothers and I had never used a PC before (although we had played games on ZX spectrum and Atari), so we had no idea how to start the game, or that we should type a:\, then dir to figure out what the exe was called, so we just typed in whatever we could think of to try start the game. Eventually, we got annoyed and started typing in swear words, and panicked a bit when we found that pressing up and down cycled through past commands (not knowing that it was just for that session), and so we typed in "sorry dad", and carried on trying random commands.

Eventually we must have given up, and turned the machine off, but left the disk in the drive.
That's how we learned about boot disks. The next time we turned the computer on, the disk was in the drive, and the game started up all by itself.

Amazing to think that they could put an entire operating system AND a game onto something like 1.2MB in those days

yeah I played 80s games in the early 90s all I had access too. Awesome games

Agreed, but you mean California Games not Californation games.

Kinda reminds me of Californication.
