A brief history of ATI/AMD dual-GPU cards

I'm not sure who researched this article, ATI attempted a dual graphics card back in 2000 it was the Rage Fury MAXX

You are right. I will have to lower Derrick into the punishment pit for a full 24 hours because of this oversight.

I was thinking the same thing. It had two Rage 128 Pro processors, and I lusted after it at the time.

You COULD punish him by confiscating all of his gaming hardware for a week.... :D

Yeah I lusted after it too, then I got the Voodoo 3500 and was like this will do, and yeah I never actually touched ATI again for a good couple of years.
 
Speaking of which, there were 4 VSA100 processors on a Voodoo 5 6000, weren't there?

Never had the pleasure of owning 3dfx hardware. They were on their last legs by the time I started earning an income, at which time I picked up a Geforce 2MX.
 
My first 3D card was a Voodoo 2 with a whopping 8MB of VRAM. I couldn't afford the "high-end" 12MB version. Still, it creamed Unreal.
 
I think there was a 4 processor Voodoo according to tests it creamed the Geforce 2, but it didn't come to market. My first 3D card was actually more of a decelerator then anything it was a 4 meg ATI Rage 3D, Tomb Raider looked good but man it didn't play so good.
