A new publisher is joining GOG.com

May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Dayâ„¢ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?
  • Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

  • Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Warsâ„¢ X-Wing and Star Warsâ„¢ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

  • Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Warsâ„¢ game on GOG.com:
  • Blaster Bundle - with 7 games up to 50% off, including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.

  • Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us!
The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT. With Star Wars Day coming up soon, we're starting celebrations a little early with some quality Star Wars streams!

Never thought this day would come. :D

Nordic games are back on GOG. I swear their relationship is worse than that of a teenage girl. We're friends. No we're not! Okay, friends again? Leave me alone. :p

Re-release all the things (get 75% off everything)!

Like a gust of pleasant, evercool breeze - Nordic Games return to GOG.com... for good this time. A 30+ strong re-addition to our catalog calls for a big hoorah, so nearly every Nordic title in on sale all weekend long, all at 75% off!

The Spellforce series delivers a mix of RTS/RPG in an epic, high-fantasy saga. Spellforce, Spellforce 2: Shadow Words, Dragon Storm, and Demons of the Past combined are an immense collection of story driven questing, memorable characters, and strategy. Painkiller Black Edition is the unmistakably old-school, no-holds-barred First Person Shooter in one hell of a demonic package. Take on hordes of fallen angels and hellhounds with the assortment of powerful, well designed weapons that slice through and explode your enemies. Then, there is The Black Mirror and The Black Mirror 2 a pair of dark murder-mystery adventures that open up a dark and captivating evil of the Black Mirror Castle. It's also a good time to pick up the entire series with the just-released Black Mirror 3 and it's 75% off series competition deal.

All that is, of course, only the tip of the iceberg. Nordic Returns to GOG.com, and just about every title can be yours at a flat 75% off! The promo ends on Tuesday, May 12, 3:59 AM GMT.

Saints Row 2 actually works on PC now! Thank you GOG, oh my, this is amazing.

Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third, Metro: Last Light Redux, Darksiders 1+2.
To break free from your shackles. To take that first free step and breath of fresh air. Oh, the exhilaration of a newfound freedom to be played anywhere, at any time!

It's what we like to imagine today's releases would think if they could think. That's because today we do our part to unchain five major titles (each brilliant in its own way) from every tiniest bit of DRM that they've ever known. That means they're being released completely DRM-free for the very first time, right here on GOG.com.

The five titles unchained today are:
  • Metro: Last Light Redux (-50%) - The 2014 remastered re-release of the blockbuster horror/FPS set in post-apocalyptic Moscow.
  • Saints Row 2 (-60%) - The surprise cult hit that reinvigorated the open-world action-adventure genre with its unique sprinkle of quirk. Complete with the GOG.com treatment to greatly improve performance on modern PCs.
  • Saints Row: The Third (-66%) - Quirk overload. The massively popular open-world action-adventure that flipped a genre on its head.
  • Darksiders + Darksiders 2 (Up to 75% off) - Hack and slash done right. Become a horseman of the apocalypse and fight as Death himself.
All five releases (and extra DLC package for Darksiders 2) are discounted for one whole week, that's until Monday, May 18 at 12:59 PM GMT.

It's like every week they land some more major names.

Bethesda joins GOG!

The Elder Scrolls. Quake & Doom. Fallout. Alright.

Welcome, Bethesda, to our pantheon of all-time classics!

Today, we're happy to start a blooming new partnership with Bethesda Softworks, one that brings an impressive lineup of their unforgettable games to our DRM-free platform, and plenty of guts and nuclear smiles to our faces.

We're teaming up to release some of the greatest hits from the Bethesda vault, some DRM-free for the first time ever. Eleven new arrivals include The Elder Scrolls and two digital-distribution premieres, totally retro id Software shooters, plus the long-awaited return of the Fallout franchise! To make the day even sweeter, The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall will be added to your game shelf entirely for free when you buy any Bethesda game.

The Elder Scrolls, perched high up among the most famous video-game worlds ever created, are now DRM-free and updated for your modern computer - you can purchase all three to receive a 33% discount:
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition.
  • The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard - digital distribution premiere.
  • The Elder Scrolls: Battlespire - digital distribution premiere.
  • The Elder Scrolls: Arena - FREE with any Bethesda purchase.
  • The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall - FREE with any Bethesda purchase, too.

Megahit id Software first-person shooters join the fray - also 33% off if you grab all three:
  • Quake including Mission Pack 1 and Mission Pack 2
  • The Ultimate DOOM
  • DOOM II + Master Levels for Doom II + Final DOOM

And last we find that goodbyes are not forever (and that war never changes). Fallout, the premiere post nuclear role playing game franchise is finally back on GOG.com! Save 66% if you complete your collection in one purchase.
  • Fallout
  • Fallout 2
  • Fallout Tactics

The bundle promos end on Wednesday, September 2, 12:59 PM GMT.

This is somewhat ironic considering that Bethesda removed the Fallout games from GOG when they acquired the licenses last year. Still, it's great to see them branching out, away from Steam. I guess this means we'll see Oblivion and F3 coming soon.

I remember, GOG gave them away for free for a limited time. Thats how I acquired them on GOG.

Yeah, Interplay gave them away as a kind of FU to Bethesda because they were losing the rights to distribute the games. IIRC there was a lawsuit too because Interplay were trying to make a new Fallout MMO, and Bethesda wanted it cancelled, along with Interplay's rights to sell the older games.

The new versions on GOG are apparently different, with some high resolution patches added in by default.

Hehe, and then Bethesda went and re-added the Fallout games on Steam at higher prices than before.

So glad I got them while they were still under Interplay.

Damn I love the old Fallout titles. I own the physical copies of Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics. I own them all on GOG as well, and I stopped myself from buying them on Steam as well when they were on special.

I recently started replaying F2 again, because why the hell not :D

I still need to finish Fallout 1. Despite never actually doing so, I think Fallout 1 had the better story of the two. Fallout 2 sometimes took the wackiness just a step too far.

Both brilliant games, though. Some of the finest Western RPGs ever made.

Thats great, even though there are some nice mods to enhance the visuals, its nice that they giving the game the proper GOG treatment.

Not a new publisher, but an enhanced ed of System Shock @ GOG.

System Shock: Enhanced Edition now comes with official support for resolutions up to 1024x768 (compared to the original 640x480), and a native 854x480 widescreen mode. Gameplay is streamlined with a toggleable mouselook mode, including more intuitive inventory and item management. Combined with assorted bug-fixes and remappable controls, System Shock is now truly enhanced. Still, some gaming experiences are truly worth preserving, so you can also return to the authentic 90's gameplay with System Shock: Classic - ready for modern systems, completely unaltered in all other aspects, and available in both the CD and Floppy editions!

Reset the system in System Shock - Enhanced Edition and Classic available in a single package, with a 40% discount for all System Shock 2 owners on GOG.com - and 20% off for everyone else. The discounted offer will last until Tuesday, September 29, 6:59 AM GMT.
