A question to gaming parents

Neo, I can't speak for the other but I'm 37 and if it weren't for gaming, my life would be a lot more stressful. I enjoy gaming and use it as a way to vent my anger and frustration. Given the choice, I'd much rather be in front of my PC than down at the pub ;)

When my kids are a bit older it will also be great to have gaming sessions with them. Plus my son will be groomed to take over the clan one day too :)

Congrats Maxil. Our first child was born a week ago so I can relate. I've still managed to game a bit, my son propped up in my arms while I jam AC:brotherhood with a game-pad :) even managed some BC2 with the occasional afk.

My son is almost 5 months now, and though I don't play online with the PC that much anymore, I do find time on console. I've actaully finished more games since he was born than before.

My friend's just had a kid, and the first couple of months are hectic...but after 5/6months it's not so bad. Get yourself a nice rocking cradle and set it up next to the console. If you;re going to be up...you might as well have fun! :-D Good luck and congrats! Looking forward to joining the ranks of parenthood. Enjoy every minute of it. Next thing you realise you'll be playing mortal combat 20 against them! :-D

it ended for me, i just felt guilty thinking about playing games and ignoring my kid :P (who else gona pull his head out of the burglar bars...)

Im sure it affects gaming time, but it depends from person to person if you will make, or have any, time for gaming. My brother has a baby on the way, I'll be there for babysitting, so I guess they'll have a bit of free time. I'm guessing weekends are the time for leisure as a week day is pretty short if you have to go to work early and come back late. But even half an hour of gaming is better than nothing right?!

for me, after a while, playing late at night worked pretty well - my wife likes her sleep and i don't need much sleep.
so once my daughter was on the bottle and didn't need booby, i did late night shift.
trying to split my tv between gaming and barney just didn't work out. i've ended up on the pc only.
