A Wii workout won't make you fit

James, I agree with you that they should do a study on some of the Kinect games. The thing with Kinect is that it tracks your whole body. Even the non-fitness games can leave you out of breath and drenched in sweat.

Wii Fit has its place, though - I quite enjoyed the yoga stuff for a while. I even lost a couple of kilos. But it simply cannot compare to anything on Kinect - not least because the design philosophy is something entirely different.

Thanks for the comment - just thought I'd point out that Tarryn wrote the article, so she's the one drenched in sweat :P

Oh oops. :o Sorry Tarryn. I'm sure I looked at who wrote the article but then maybe I just saw James' name at the start of this thread.

So yes, Tarryn, I agree with you about the whole Kinect thing. Even Kinect Adventures get hectic later on. I can just imagine what the fitness games are like.

i'll stick to the gym.

For so many reasons I simply cannot agree: perhaps it's because many people use it as a social hangout, perhaps it's the draconian contracts gyms impose, perhaps it's the fact that many people who have a gym contract probably never return anyway.

I've given up on these "studies" already, for each study that proves something there's another that disproves it. Just make up your mind for yourself: if you feel more fit and are losing weight after weeks of using Wii Fit, it's worked. If not, you're probably doing it wrong.
