Glad to hear Games arn't just turning us all into mindless psycos....
Okay what about the all around gamer? But this is interesting cause I am sure I've read it somewhere before, or they did a similar study before, as I was discussing this with a buddy while driving the one day.
Speak for yourselves guys, I am not mindless ;-)
I might not have killed anyone before, but I sure could think of a few individuals whom I'm sure wouldn't be missed...![]()
Well, I suppose that those silly quick time, button-mashing events would be useful for something along the line![]()
I don't think it's just action games that would help with decision making. I just think about all the complicated decisions I have to make playing RPGs when it comes to statistics and all that jazz. you have to weigh up what's going to be the best for your party and you need to be careful about it otherwise you'll suffer for the rest of the game.
Powder I think they ment like FOF regognition and stuff like that, not complex moral choices. Ill use the example of a Firefight match in Halo ODST me and Grimspoon had last night. As we play we do threat assement and FOF (Friend or Foe) recognition. We dodge grenades thrown and dudes with big ass hammers. As a result our brains are more accustomed to processing auditore and visual information on the fly. If that makes sense.
It does make sense.
Also- maybe RTS games helps you to think about the bigger picture of a situation better as well. I don't think it's only FPS games that helps with "whatever" functions.
