Activision lists EA as defendant in US$400 million lawsuit

very interesting read! activision aren't nearly as good as ea. just look what they did to the tony hawk franchise. i remember when tony hawk pro skater 3 got a perfect 10 on gamespot... ea on the other hand nurture their franchises - just look at how the mass effect series has gone from strength to strength and recently multiplatform as well (the ps3 deserves every exclusive it robs the 360 of). i hope activision loses their case and learn not to sue everyone just because they're sour grapes over losing talented staff who made them big bucks through the call of duty games.

Mass effect was good hands well before EA bought BioWare. Most of bioware's series turns out well. EA have improved in recent year but lets not forget their history with what they did to bullfrog and westwood.

For all I care EAIDS and Actiwhores can sue eachother in oblivion and GTFO of game development so that gaming as a whole can go back to what it's supposed to be.

I'm not going to say that EA is perfect, with their milking franchises until death, and then milking the corpses afterwards - but Activision is suddenly singing a different tune?

First, the IW founders were let go (read: fired), and now they left by themselves, apparently, after working to destabilise IW and claim everything for themselves. Regarding Activision's claims that they took the bonus money and kept it for themselves ... a simple audit will prove the truth of that.

Btw - Raven ... EA and Activision are publishers ... not developers. Activision is just a little more tight-fisted with regards to their control of their development houses - whereas EA takes a far more offhanded approach - give us the game, we'll publish and sell it, and take a wad off the top for ourselves. I have to note that EA's titles have been improving a bit lately - although they still milk alot.

Yes indeed and publishers arent really concerned whatsoever about how good a game might be. Its a business and they are in business cause number one there is a need that has to be supplied for and secondly they want to make profit.

EA is a massive company becuase they know how to milk every cent out of all their titles and they have a massive share in the sport games market. Whether their games is good or not is not rellevant because for them its about making a profit which is the aim of any business is it not?

Go do a bit of calculations in the gaming world and youll soon realise that no one cares about our opinions regarding quality of gameplay and so forth. Yes obviously Activision makes quality games but they could have been better. MW2 was a 1500 hours of awesomeness for me personally but other people would say it was shit.

The gaming industry is around a $60 Billion industry(spitball figure). Its a massive industry where everyone wants to make a lot of money. Gaming has moved away from the centimental side long ago my friends. Its major business now and well see less and less "awesome" games and more and more "it could have been better".

“Activision wants to hide the fact that they have no credible response to the claim of two artists who were fired and now just want to get paid for their work."

Lol, if thats now taking a dig at Activision then I dunno what is :D
