Activision speaks out against Battefield vs CoD smack talk

I must be honest, I think it says a lot about a company, when it can't get ahead on it's own merits but rather needs to slam everyone else to look good. either way something is "rotten to the core"

Fair point. I never really subscribed to these things. Even just on a console level, you'll see a lot of rivalry. I own every single console on the market except the PSP and enjoy all of them. Competition (without mindless badmouthing) is very healthy and in the end, we all win.
 
The market is big enough, and most avid gamers will play all the games they can find. No need to bash other games.

I can't agree more. Personally, I want both games. Just because the companies are in competition with their respective games, some people take it upon themselves to "get more involved" with the competition, by tossing out bad remarks.

Instead of going "I prefer this", they through out "that game sucks so much and this game is awesome". Same thing happens with consoles, like I mentioned earlier. I own the lot of them, I don't prefer one over another, each serves their purpose. Having said that, I see countless posts where people ask genuine questions relating to problems with their consoles, until some idiot comes along and posts "buy a [insert rival console name here]".

This will continue to happen because of ignorance. I see it happening with the two new rugby games that are due for release in the next month or so. I've seen it happen with Gran Turismo and Forza. Tekken and Street Fighter (although that should be settles with the two crossover games heading this way). PES and FIFA. Even though Activision's CEO has now warned about (and given his opinion on the matter), this will not cease amoung gamers.

Rather use your stellar game to do the smack talking. Talking kak about your competitor wont win you any favors with me. :/
 
Pity that it has come to this. I would actually like to get both games to be honest. Different stories and different multiplayer experiences. Works for me.
 
He makes a point no doubt but the end of the day , it comes down to the game like he said its about entertainment and value
and Activision is lacking here some well a lot with regurgitated games .

He sounds like the kid in the playground that calls for the teacher after he got pranked but only cause he wasn't the one pulling the prank.
