ADSL ISP Choice

So I am making the move - going solo - no parents and such.

Will have 4Mbps internet access at new flat. Now just which ISP to go with.

So far it is making the most sense to look at this package:

WebAfrica HomeConnect 25GB - R319

- 5GB Peak (7AM -> 7PM Work Days)
- 20GB Off-Peak (7PM - 12PM Evenings + ALL DAY Public Holidays and Weekends)
- 10GB 12PM - 6AM
- FreeZone access

I mostly use my line for casual surfing, youtube here and there, a bit of news servers, some online gaming and steam purchases/downloads.

Figured I can set most of my downloads to occur late night.

Best I've heard of so far is Openweb's Gold packages. I've heard Webafrica is slow, like Mweb. Might be wrong, doubt any ISP is as bad as Mweb.

Also heard OpenWeb Gold is great, but I don't have R659 for an uncapped account.

I can't see the capped WebAfrica accounts being slow? You really heard they slow?

Well, best thing to do is to read the topics on MyBB ADSL ISP forums, and judge for yourself. There are certainly not close as much as many complaints as in the Mweb topic.

I haven't had too much trouble with WebAfrica, although the speeds aren't always fantastic. I got in on that Titan special though so I don't really want to cancel it because it's a great price

I don't know why so many people moan about Mweb. I'm on their 1meg uncapped service and been so for almost a year and have not had a single days issue with them. For R599 it is a really great service.
