Afrihost Uncapped Shaping?

Hi there, so would like to find out at how many GB's the uncapped accounts from Afrihost are really shaped heavily.
What I know:
1. 384kb - at 30Gb they turn of the tap leaving it dripping slightly, gets so slow you check the connection every now and then.
2. 1m - not sure at all
3. 4m - at 47gb and still going strong

The price for capped unshaped... R475 for 60Gb. Lekker...

i was with afrihost uncapped, but shaping waaaaaaayyyyy tooooooo bad! moved over to mweb 4mpbs shaped uncapped and do about 250gb's worth of downloads per month with no issues whatsoever :D

Got 1mb sitting on 100gbs so far. Signed up on 8th... No shaping at all.

A friend with 4mb sitting on 200gb so far this months not shaped yet either...

Afrihost used to have 30GB shaping. This has now change and people even pulling 300GB still did not get shaped.

152gb on 2mb uncapped and full speeds. At times a torrent can drop to about 70kb/s during the day (Tested this with various torrents). Vast improvement since the move over to MTN network.

I have 3 different Afrihost accounts and close to the end of the month my latency increases to to about 300ms(unplayable) however my downloading stays at full speed.

This is actually I hate about South African internet. We always have all this shaping and QoS running, because they max the international bandwidth they have. In other countries ( Well developed countries ) the providers upgrade their bandwidth on the relevant link that is congesting. Here they drop traffic with QoS. The joke being our ISP costs are still more expensive than in these mentioned countries.

The last time I checked you could download 7GB in 24 hours and not be subject to shaping, but NONE of the ISPs are open about this at all. They keep this info to themselves mainly, because they don't want to actually show the limitations of uncapped accounts they sell.

All that said I have a 10mbps uncapped Afrihost line and I can't really complain about the latency or the shaping. Also it really isn't that expensive to get unshaped uncapped business accounts after their last price decrease. Things are looking a lot better! Now we just need Telkom to break free of this useless/miss-managed government and life will be good!
