Aion - General Discussion

That's my worry as well. Despite the fact that I do enjoy Aion - I've noticed that I'm less inclined to spend hours at a time playing either GW or Aion - leading me to believe that Aion is actually ... how to put it ... weaning me off the genre entirely.

Which is what wouldve most likely happened if I played WoW as well. I just enjoyed the pacing and story of GW a lot more - which is why GW2 needs to hurry up and get here so I can get addicted again :D

Lol same here but im waiting to get this bad boy...

Hahahaha ... been there. I got super annoyed last night because my one campaign mission took me to the Abyss ... at the exact place a couple of level 50 Asmos were busy killing fortress guards. Needless to say ... I got one-shotted into oblivion every time I tried going there - and all I need is that mission to level me to 35 *sigh*

I have to be honest though - the more time I spend on my chanter vs the other classes - the more I'm starting to think its the most unbalanced class in the game at my level. I haven't been able to 1v1 a single other class up to this point. In terms of damage, it does less than even my level 31 cleric, never mind my level 28 sorc, and of course even the healing is sup-par - the only class I can face and outheal damage is another bloody chanter.

My chanter's skill bar (and keep in mind this is my highest character) is the emptiest of all my chars (this includes my level 16 ranger), and I have no appreciable stunning/knock-down skills - except for those chain-skills that only have a 5% chance of activating. Chanters need a serious buff IMO.

Well when u get to level 50 u have max resist ><

For me all ive got to do is wing root and my magma spirit but man oh man wing root sounds awesome when in air combat :D

can kill a dude by dropping him lol

Instantly decreases the flight time of a target within 40m by 20%, and causes it to decrease by an additional 6% every 3 sec for 30 sec.

Root him while hes in mid air and hes screwed :D lol

So it seems i need an upgrade, siege defending was a lol last night, constant 60 frames per sec down to about 7 :D and ppl say wow is hectic with their little puny 25 man raid :D

Yeah ... Spiritmasters own ... saw a level 31 take on a level 34 Templar ... the templar came off second best - very badly.

But level for level - I still believe Chanters are very badly off. I actually - at level 34 - only have 2 attack skills - everything else is a chain skill. And - apart from buffs, I have zero attack spells. At level 34 - I have a choice between using Smite I or spitting at my opponent. They make a pretty bold claim on the Wiki about Chanters being great at solo play - which is true up to a point. I can solo most of my missions (but then almost any class can, and since I've played with every other class I'm not making this claim lightly) - but Chanters aren't nearly as good at attacking as the site makes out.

Normal PvE is fine - in [Group] missions in Elite areas the Chanters are relegated to a support role, buffing and doing minor DPS and acting as a backup for the cleric - and in PvP I find myself outclassed in most cases.

I am on the fence to play ANY MMO. The first one to make something look appealing WINS!

So far I am looking at Aion, WoW (cough).
Waiting on FFXIV, GW2, SWTOR.

Whomever gets something done first I will jump into.

You guys might want to give this a look ... its a full set of notes on the 1.9 patch for the Korean servers. Probably won't be entirely the same once it gets to the west but its a good indicator, most likely.

http://powerwiki.na.aiononline.com/aion/Korean PTS: March 3rd Test Server Update 1.9 Announcement

Sadly, after looking through it, it looks like Chanters are really being screwed over, and my sentiments seem to be echoed in some of the comments I've read so far. Rangers on the other hand seem to come off very well - but seriously ... the Clerics' healing is getting a buff, there's a nice anti-stun skill coming in (which is the closest thing to CC any chanter has), and the Chanters get one single damage skill - at level 48.

Pain in the ass really ...

Any one tried Siege yet?

Too much going on and i kept on getting disconnected from the server :(

Damn Telkom!

I stay away from the sieges ... I don't get dc'd, but I end up getting one-shotted a bit too often, and I'm not convinced of Chanters' usefulness in a battle of that size. So I'm leveling up my sorc and cleric.
