initial A|ON Impressions
1) patching; lol what patching
, yes sure it did take a while but after that it was FAST
2) server wait time; very first time i had to wait an hour to get into a game. yes i missed the initial waiting when wow had them
3) character creation; interesting though not like uber to many option, but still there are nice hair styles. ooo nice seductive voice set
4) initial quest; go kill X o Y.
5) over all initial lvl 1 - 3 impressions, definitely is something else to toy with and good all in all. definitely one hell of a fantasy fest- i like it
...i must finally add that so far its really not bad for a launch day title, apart from the slow account creation, slow patching and waiting times to get in (of which there was none this morning) it seems to be a lot smoother than for example age of conan was. is that semi metal i hear when i fight with the asmodian ? heh....

Oh my sack! It's been running since 6PM last night and the patching is at 69% ><
I hope I make it in time to create an Asmodian on Gorgos
EDIT: Woot! It is downloading at my full line speed suddenly up from 8Kbps xD ETA of just over an hour.
today was alot better than yesterday, no wait and Asmodian was open on gorgos
, but don't just run from star to the city and missing the quests a long the way like i did with my first char

Cool, played for about an hour. Quite impressed, very similar to WoW though. It will take some time to really sink its claws in.
I have not be impressed by the performance however.
Running at 1680x1050 with 4xAA and everything on high I am averaging under 20FPS. I am running a Phenom II 955BE, 4GB, HD 5870. Getting similar performance to Crysis...

Actually Crysis maintains around 38fps on those settings

To be honest, the more I think about it, Im really annoyed about the crappy framerates I have been getting in Aion. It is not even that good looking, and if an HD 5870 cant manage 30fps+ on high settings then what can? I thought something might be wrong with a setting or the drivers, but I checked it out and my rig still eats its way through Crysis and Empire: Total War.

good news we are at least 2, because i was wondering if it had to do with me sniffing out the ips so i can setup the correct routing for the game so that it can login + play on unshaped but patch via shaped.

, getting around 40 with my 260gtx and q6600, still the engine is better than AOC. i trust they will sort this out and it will get better. infact its still better than the last two mmo's i did on launch day, hellgate was seriously f***ed and lol age of conan hell that was bad...
