Im Decided to create an Elyos Warrior Called Wanderer on Kalil and will then creat something else on Gorgos. Level 7 at the moment. Fun game. I set everything to Max, vertical sync enabled and Bloom effect set to 3. 8X AA with the resolution also at max. So very very pretty. FPS ranges from 47 to 60 odd. It is definatly one of the sexyist MMO's ive even seen.

Here are some pix of mine.

They are pretty large.

Your pc is going to fall over and assume the fetal position when you hit Sanctum / Pandemonium :p

:| Im in two minds of playing Aion.... Like... Its nearly the same as wow... Graphics texture Should also be a little better....

I was also in 2 minds....

But I think with the change of environment and different game mechanics I am glad I have given it a chance. The graphics are very good... and you can really customise your char to look exactly how you want.

Really enjoying now, however, it is very similar to WoW.

I can tell you one thing... its not Eve. I am enjoying it altough there is some risk vs reward issues that needs dealing with. Im use to Eve, in Eve you don't want to die, there are no obelisks or spawn points. In Eve death means the loss of million upon millions of ISK(Game currency) in Aion if i die its like a slap on the wrist. I dont loose anything except a bit of xp that can be bought back. I guess this makes the game more fun and opens it up to the non hardcore gamer. Its by no means a bad game and the flying bits are fun, if short lived, combat feels solid. Is it just me or are the skill trees a tad on the tiny side?

I dunno ... in the higher levels the number of skills seem a tad overwhelming.

I haven't gotten that far myself - so I commenting based on what I've seen on my friend's screen - he's level 30. But he's unorganised as well ... I have a whole different way of organising my skill bars.

A game like this is where a macro keyboard is perfect, preset your attacks so u just press a button and the chain attacks runs from start to finish.

In my humble opinion this game has alot of potential but i just dont know if subbing would be worth it. As f2p it would be awesome but i see why there are subs, cost of maintaining servers and what not.

As for the dying part ... sure it's not the same as Eve. Eve = spaceship.

WoW is EZMode compared to Aion though. Traveling and dying is rather unforgiving.

At lvl 20 it costs me 5000 kinah each time I die, since I lose 20,000 XP. The other problem is also traveling...if you set your res point at an obelisk near by, you won't be able to portal back to cities and fortresses when you're done questing - which results in MORE travel expenses.

Also, randomly spawning mobs will own you 6-love if you're not prepared.

Something else I learnt last night is that all opposing faction players appear as lvl ?? on your screen, regardless of whether they are 10 levels below or above you. I think that's pretty awesome. That way you won't just gank any old player you come across.

You have a point i guess. Like im in those swamps around that citadel and there is this one HUGE crab thing that kills with like one Hit.

Yeah Eve is a spaceship but most players pend weeks or months fine tuning their ship. Flying dozends of jumps to get a piece of tech. If your ship gets blown up you loose all of that. You lets say your ship costs 122mil ISK then you have 6X 15mil turrets. A couple of 20mil Riggs. Not to mention Reppers and Hardnerns that don't come cheep. If you die you loose 2, 3 hundred mill easy. If you get podded and you had a bunch of +2 implants their gone. But you can't really compare the two. For me... i just didn't feel like i accomplished anything when i got my wings. But ask OC or Graduis or any Eve player. You fly into a mission where u know the ratts can pwn you easy if you let your guard down for a moment, there is nothing like it. But ive only played Aion for 9 hours so its hard to really give my final opinion of it. Its fun though and less tedious than eve can be. Its the lasting appeal that gets me, will there be any,
