Hi Every1

I used to play Mil sim Paintball competitively, and put down my marker quite some time ago and sold it.
I played airsoft this weekend and LOVED it! How many of you have tried it?

If you guys know of any1 selling airsoft gear please pop me a message!!! Looking to get one myself now

I can honestly say that this is the first time that I hear of airsoft. Will google it a bit this evening and see what it's about.

Basically high powered BB Guns, VERY realistic guns and gear worn. Mostly used for Mil Sim (Military simulation) games. You can't tell the difference between a real gun and an airsoft gun. In America their tips have to be painted orange to distinguish them from real guns.

So you actually shoot each other with high powered BB guns? Is there some way to see when a person has been shot?

If you play with thin clothes it pierces the skin. And you can clearly hear it. That's where the BIG difference comes in between Paintball and airsoft.
Airsoft requires honest players, as it is possible to cheat. But you play airsoft for the Realism factor. The strategies and battle replications.
For example there are airsoft games that last 5hours+, with checkpoints and goals 3+km away from each other. For example there is a WW2 Replica battle during this month somewhere. So period correct guns and clothing is needed :)
 
If you play with the right people its awesome!
I got myself and MP5. As I hate sitting waiting/camping. So I am the Rusher/Lurker and Flanker in the team!

I think Wyv and I are the same in that we are passive people in a way. Is that the right word? Hmm not entirely. We are the introverts, the destroyers of worlds. The avoiders, not the seekers. Or maybe it's just me.

Hehehe that is the one part and the other part is any type of gun irl and me = me getting hurt. I am to accident prone to have such hobbies plus i prefer being creative :D
 
So if your not wearing protective clothing it pierces your skin ? Sounds quite a bit more hectic than paintball :S

But it does look fun, i prefer the look of the guns etc.
 
When i saw this topic i thought it was the new "Lazer Tag" thing they doing just off Malibongwe drive... Lank real guns, extremely accurate... Saw them at geek fest... Not sure when its opening, but they making a "Baghdad simulation" from what i heard...

You also wear packs that shock you when u get shot... lol... "whistling:

Jup jup indeed. I have a bruise on my knuckle from a game about 3 weeks ago when I got shot from about 10-15m without wearing gloves
 
I thought Id share my Airsoft gun for those who would like to know what it looks like!
It has been upgraded since this picture was taken though.

The Airsoft gun is the Mp5.
The Pistol is a real Pistol- CZ 75 p07
Army Jacket is My Fathers Real army jacket (Oosthuizen on the Badge)
And Knives from my collection

Wahaha the ammo is real ammo for the CZ pistol yeah :P
I use 0.20g BB bullets made for airsoft. You do get heavier for the snipers and so on
